So which is the disobedient one? As dropoffyourkeylee noted, it could be the one without his book & KM, but then look at the guy on the left - he's looking down and thinking while everyone else is looking up at the speaker - plus, he doesn't have a jacket like the other guys. Maybe both fellows are disobedient.

"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

Anony Mous - I think I see what you mean by "worldly glossing this over." I think you were referring to yourself. Forgive me, my brain sometimes goes off track - I thought maybe you might have meant that Steve was the worldly glossing the situation over and therefore somehow being more Christian. At any rate, I think the quote "Selma, who is trying the be the Christian here? You or Steve?" was meant to say that Steve is not even trying to be a Christian, so she should not expect him to be loving, but she on the other hand -is- trying to be a Christian, so she should be the one to step up and be loving. I didn't gather anything from that quote to mean that Steve is the better Christian.

Anony Mous - I'm confused. What do you mean by a worldly glossing this over?

the advice that her abusive husband was somehow more "Christian"
I didn't get the impression they were saying the husband was more Christian. I gathered they were saying that since the wife is the believer and the husband is not, she should be doing the supposed Christian thing which is turning the other cheek and being more loving. Since the husband is not a believer, she should not expect much from him. She, on the other hand, should hold herself to a supposedly higher standard which may help inspire him to change his ways. The whole thing is still warped IMO, but I don't think they were saying that the husband is more Christian.

Study edition, which means it's harder for the average person to get the paper magazine form, although it's available online (www.jw.org). I was thinking I'd go to a KH and get the magazine version to show people, but I know the elders would question me if I asked for the study edition. They're all smiles if I say "Can I have a Watchtower?" They say "sure," and hand me a public version. If I say "Can I have a -Study Edition- Watchtower?" they get weird.

In place of Armageddon or even Jehovah's Day, my study conductor called it God's War. He did so in a hesitant way, as if he didn't want to mention it.

Eurozone crisis- the jw's are crowing about it like mad!
by highdose inover the past few weeks i've been told that the eurozone will go into melt down and that this will be the start of armargeddon because the goverments will then turn on religon to get their money instead.. i have been told that the greek pm almost rejecting the greek bailout plan would lead to armargeddon.
of course much to the jw's disapointment the greek pm resigned and the greeks did accept the bail out.
thus saving the greek banks from collapse and thus the rest of the european banks.. i have been told that italys debt will mean they will plunder the vatican for its wealth!

sonny.alfaro, Since you mentioned prophecy in your earlier comments, I glanced over the prophecy section of that website, and I see a lot of trees.

Confused...
by raxxxx in.
hiya and... i do not really know where to begin... currently a jw... slightly starting to fade... got a girlfriend baptised... i am baptised also... my head is a mess... i do not know what to believe anymore... never really fully trusted elders as it comes to 'leading the flock'... got burned a few times with their ... decisions etc.
read a few articles in here about their alleged false beliefs... do not really know what to do... wondered if any of you felt like that at any point... when something that you trusted and followed most of your life... does not seem to be what you thought it was... .

Hi raxxx, glad to hear you're still around. I will be curious to see what you come up with. Personally, I don't have much of a reason to pay attention to JW things anymore because my JW acquaintance won't speak to me about it. She got upset when I asked her why a rational person should believe it. In hindsight, it was probably too rough of a question to ask her, but it's done now. Anyway, for some reason I'm still interested to see how people go through the issues this organization creates and offer my own thoughts if I think they might be helpful. I look forward to reading the results of your investigation if you choose to share them.
