does anyone on this forum have knowledge about casting out demons or evil spirits?
there's at least two of them that have been harrasing me even before i was a jw.
i recently attended a deliverance church to find some help but it was apparent that the holy spirit was missing from that church.

Thank you. I like how he leaves it open-ended such that an assertion may be interesting and explored if desired, but if it has no proof in the first place, one has every right to dismiss it without proof.

a few comments from muddy waters and mummatron on another thread peaked my curiosity and led me to revisit some of the illustrations in the my book of bible stories.
i don't appear to have my old copy from when i was a child (thankfully), so i checked out the images over on watchtower.org where the entire book can be read online.
the images below are taken from what is displayed on that website, although it wouldn't surprise me if there are equally awful images that haven't been used.. so which of the images below are the most grotesque and inappropriate for children?
Put an R rating on the 'holy' book.
Good point. When I attempted to read the bible as a child, I was surprised at the strange sexual and violent stories, and I had no illustrations. Just reading the text brought gruesome images to my young mind.
and it does not disappoint.
the first century brothers are on the cover, going door to door with what look like leather messenger bags.. the first article is entitled, are all "christians" christian.
and you can tell by the picture that anyone with a beard or goatee is definitely not a real christian.. the next article, remain in my word has this quote that condemns catholics but seems eerily close to what jws believe:.

appendix 1 of the new world translation is entitled "the divine name in the hebrew scriptures and in the christian greek scriptures "jehovah.

it says in part: "to avoid overstepping the bounds of a translator into the field of exegesis, we have been most cautious about rendering the divine name in the christian greek scriptures, always carefully considering the hebrew scriptures as a background.
The introduction in the NWT reference bible has a list of the "J" references, and some of them are Hebrew translations of the Greek scriptures. For example J^7 through J^19. Also, J^22, 23, and 26.

i saw this on the ifb facebook wall that i felt you all might appreciate.. rule #1. nothing bad happens in an ifb church.. rule #2. should something bad happen to anyone or sect outside of the ifb, decry them as loudly and as publicly as you can to bolster your people's illusion that the ifb is the only true church.. rule #3. take whatever steps are necessary to insure that rule #1 remains true in the eyes of everyone.. rule #4. should something bad happen in an ifb church, refer back to rule #1..

They go door to door and have a form of shunning too.
i am looking for court cases and news reports on underage children being denied blood transfusions and as a result either having the court intervene or death.
any report especially 2008-2011 will work very well.. also any jw publication that says jw's die rather than accepting blood.
also any jw publication that encourages this practice in regards children especially official documents and recent publications (2005-2011 or whenever the last doctrinal change was).. .
