When I was in high school I always remember the "Popular Group." The ones that had the best looks, the nicest clothes and the life that everyone wanted. Oh how I longed for just one day to be a Popular one, and to not be the person in the shadows. The person that few people knew and most thought was strange because he belonged to that religion that wont let him do anything.
Then I would go to the Kingdom Hall and I would not be related to the right people, or have friends that were Pioneers to get me invited to the cool get together or to be part of the convention parts. Soon I found my own and I found out a secret, kiss the elders ass and you gain Popularity. Soon I was carrying microphones and auxiliary pioneering, then full time Pioneer. Not much longer and I was a 17 year old Ministerial Servant, wow I was Popular now. People invited me to dinner and the sisters were all after that fancy spiritual catch. Believe it or not I did not get married until I was 23, as I did not like being the one chassed. I married the one I chassed. Soon my wife was a Pioneer and we were so Popular, people could not get enough of us. We were in meeting parts, assembly parts and even convention parts. Then, to my surprise I was appointed a elder at a really young age and was even shown to be the example of how it was to be done. People saw me on the street and made a point to tell me how much I encouraged them, and how their son wanted to be just like me.
Then it happened, I finally became Popular, and you know what I wanted? I wanted to step back into the shadow, so that no one could see me anymore. I wanted the new part inside me that saw the religion as a cult to come forth and run the show. Yet, I was so worried what people would say and what people would do, as I was in the limelight now. Then one day my wife and I talked, and we decided that it was no ones business what we do and we had to do what makes us happy. So we walked away.
Within weeks, no one hardly new of us, talked to us or even acknowledged our past. We were in the shadows once more. So much of my life was about getting to the top, and yet happiness only began when I went back down to the bottom. Interesting, that we always want what we do not truly need.
So what I have learned in my life, is that Popularity is only good when you want it ... but when you have it, it can be the worse weight to bare. So if you are at the bottom and hardly noticed, and wish you were someone else or walking in someone else's shoes. Think again, and be happy in the shadows, no one ever looks at the shadows. End of the world

i have always loved this line, as it sums up my conversations with witnesses and family that remain witnesses.
when 9/11 happened i got a lot of letters, conversations, and phone calls from witnesses wanting my wife and i to become active again.

I have always loved this line, as it sums up my conversations with Witnesses and family that remain Witnesses. When 9/11 happened I got a lot of letters, conversations, and phone calls from Witnesses wanting my wife and I to become active again. It was "the end is near" over and over with one spin after another. When the war started and the other events of the last 10 months took place, I heard more and more from Witnesses and other Christian religions. Each one of them saying the same message, "the end is upon us".
You know what is funny about the end in books, it is normally the best part. It is when you really get to see who was the hero and who was the villain. So if the end is really here, which I do not agree with, then why worry unless you are the villain. I am the hero, I saved my life and the life of my wife by getting us away from the Witnesses and Christianity. By allowing us to think for ourselves and to love without condition those whom we meet.
So if it is the "end of the world as we know it" ... I must truly say "I feel fine"

Something to know about time
by kenpodragon intime moves to quickly when we are older, yet it moves as the same slow speed we felt when we were younger.
so if you want time to slow down, and to enjoy the moment fuller ... learn to think younger and stop getting so much older.. .

Tracking Device
by kenpodragon inrecently it has come to my attention that the witnesses have implanted tracking devices in all of their members, and some are even active inside former members.
the device works on a very open level, by causing the witnesses to report all behavior that is unseen and to also report on others that trust them.
the device is far stronger then any used by the government, cia or any foreign power.

Recently it has come to my attention that the Witnesses have implanted tracking devices in all of their members, and some are even active inside former members. The device works on a very open level, by causing the Witnesses to report all behavior that is unseen and to also report on others that trust them. The device is far stronger then any used by the government, CIA or any foreign power. It alters the mind and even causes members of the same family to track down all that is known and report it to elders. New batteries are added to this device each day in the form of publications, meetings, and even from prayer. It is very hard to remove and can cause immense pain when it is breaking down. People have even been known to kill themselves when this device is over active, and thus it must be marked as "deadly." Few people admit it was planted into them and fewer yet will even know that it is a tracking device.

Just How Much of NY City does the Org Own?
by Sentinel ini've lost track of how the org is doing in ny city.
does anyone know how close their buildings are to the former twin towers?.
i've heard that they own quite a lot, perhaps as much as a fulll city block.

You should realize that they are in Brooklyn, and not even on the right side of the river to be next to the Twin Towers. Second, the new car thing is a leasing option that many coperation do to get tax breaks. Not that I am defending them, but neither one of the points you mentioned bother me a whole lot. If they are a business, then I would expect them to invest and handle themselves that way.

Because they made us laugh

I often wonder why we have it inside us
To know when a piece of our life is missing.
To know when someone we care about
Has left us and gone to a different place or dwelling.
When I see that they no longer sit with me
When I see that they are now miles apart
both in the body and in my heart.
Why do we miss people when they are gone?
Why do we not heal?
From the absence of their presence
Why do we not accept?
That they went away and left us
The more I see ones step away
The more I wish for just one more day
A day to smile, or a day to laugh
Just one more day, then another and maybe a next

Flowers in life
by kenpodragon inwhen i was a baby i was walking along and i saw a flower.
it was all colorful and pretty so i picked it and showed it to my mother, she called it a "flower" and i held it and kept it with me until it turned brown and faded away.. as the years went by i saw many flowers and i passed many of them without notice, even stomped a few on accident as i walked threw the field to a new destination.
the years passed so fast and so many flowers were around, and yet i only took a fading glimpse at best.. then one day i was sitting in a field wondering what the universe was all about and why life was even here.

One of my favorite things to do it to eat in the flower garden in the yard, or sit in the woods on a rock over looking a mountian lake and enjoy the day. Never knew there was a book that reccommended that it just felt good to me.
