It's all so disingenious. If a pub could do 1 or 10 or 20 or 40 or 80 or 160 hrs. they should do it. Suppose to do your best, with or without a tittle. As for that dumb elder statement about Armgeddon coming, what we've always been taught is we have to serve because we DON"T know when it is coming---the thief in the deal.

My favorite books are non fiction adventure. Hard to pick a favorite, but on that favorite list would be the Munity On the Bounty. It is a trilogy. Read them all, in order of course. First is Munity on......., second is Men Against the Sea, and third is Pitcarin's Island. Pitcarin's...... will leave your head spinning. Goggle Pit...... and you'll see to this day how the few inhabitants are linked to the Bounty. Incrediable story!

CO's putting the screws on elder bodies, and ministerial servants to auxilliary pioneer this April.
by miseryloveselders ini have such a love/hate, 50/50 relationship with this organization any more, but a letter was read to the elders and ministerial servants that has pushed me to the 30/70 range in favor of hate, if even momentarily.
most of you if not all are aware of the auxilliary pioneering initiative for this upcoming april.
it's no secret that i'm not real fond of pioneering as its unscriptural for one thing.

My ex wife would get real emotional about unfairness. She would always volunteer our house for a CO meal but never even be aknowledged. Our Service Overseer sensed her unhappiness and said to me what day would we like. Back then I used to take a day off to work with CO group. I told him what day and I also said we would do something simple like grilled cheese and tomato soup so we can get right back out. He said he would see if he could work us in. Never heard another word about it. I just didn't want the comotion. Never told my ex.

Dinner With a Pioneer Couple Last Night
by dontplaceliterature inmy wife and i had dinner with a pioneer couple last night that we've been friends with for a long time.
they are both nice people, with the wife having a few dashes of pretentiousness mixed in.. usually when we are together, they always talk about pioneering, which makes some sense as it's the primary focus of thier lives.
however, it has gotten progressively more dominate in conversation over the last couple of years, to the point of being annoying.

It's the commitment they are looking for. That makes the BOE look good to the CO. The life saving work is not as important as them being able to announce XXXX pioneers this month. If a person did 150 hours a month but did not "sign up" they would not receive encouragement, they would be counseled for not signing up and being an example and following direction.
