You poor thing! You must be in a fix!
Welcome here, you can vent all you like. We are here for you.
hello my fellow "apostates".
just wanted to say hi.
i'm still in the borg but mentally out.
You poor thing! You must be in a fix!
Welcome here, you can vent all you like. We are here for you.
we have had a letter read the last 2 meetings to all congs attenidng the detroit dc's... seems people are not going, or not booking their hotels.
and the society is pissed!
they are imploring every one to not wait for a new list with new hotels, it is not happening.
I would probably steer clear of Detroit also. The city gets way too much bad press.

I applaud your efforts.
...or rather what you wouldn't find in a watchtower .
morals without god (new york times article).
can we envision a world without god?
We were told at the Kingdom Hall that those who didn't believe in God just don't want to answer to anyone for their immoral behavior.
i visited this site about 2 years after leaving?.
when did you first visit jwn?.
paul.
I visited just after I decided to leave. My sister introduced me to this site, she left also, both of us in our late 50's after having been raised "in."
have you ever had a so-called friend who never seemed to be around when you really needed his active, participatory help, but was always good enough to show up after the fact, to lend you his "support" after the event?.
maybe he failed to show up when you needed to move furniture.
did he show up afterward, and praise you for the ability to get it done without his help?
Very glad I took the time to read this post. Very moving story. What a shame and it happens all the time, over and over. Here in the US, a four month old baby was just raped and beaten to death. All while we are supposed to be waiting on God to fix things.
i always find your commentary incredibly helpful.
We just wanted you to know your posts were missed...looking forward to reading next weeks material.
just got back from a recent sad.. after most talks, the applause was, at most, tepid.. it was striking in its tepidity, if that is possible (and if that is a word).. affter most talks, applause lasted literally no more than 5 seconds.
its volume was scarcely above a whisper.. it wasn't acoustics - the bethel speaker was technically a polished speaker (although presenting the same old boring info), and his talks generated noticeably louder applause.
but even still - that applause was maybe 10 seconds, and about normal-conversation level.. but local speakers - the applause was not much more loud than the hum coming from your refrigerator.. there were 1300+ people there.. it was just so weird - my previous large-group experience was at the agm, where people were nearly apoplectic & drooling with delight over their new "silver bibles" (which very few have read, i'd wager).. these guys were just "zombified".. speaking of bibles - bethel dude called it a "platinum bible".
Wow...only one baptised...that is great...but it is also one too many!
this is an observation i have made .
yesterday a group of jw`s entered the street where i live , i`m at the end of a street and they stood around and obviously joked and mucked around for about 10 minutes as a group opposite my house .their were 3 teenage girls ,1 teenage boy , and 3 older men .
this was about 10:30 am on a saturday.
My "still in" daughter went out for an hour last Saturday with two other sisters and said theystopped by the bakery and just gossiped the whole time.

Nice try...nice video. Of course you know they think the problem lies with you, not them. You are not honest hearted, humble, nor hungering for the truth. That is the explanation that we were indoctrinated with at our local Kingdom Halls.
I sure wouldn't like to have that brother's job of answering the telephone questions at Bethel. He is probably monitored to boot.
