do they talk to you, ignore you, love bomb you??

As some of you know, my mother, who was active in the congregation here, died a few months ago. At her memorial service at the kingdom hall, most people (about 80%) ignored my sister, grandmajones, and I, but some were nice.
No sympathy cards or phone calls were received. Zero, not a one. We are both well known in the area and have been for decades.
being an adult, i choose not to attend the meetings.
i would prefer my children not attend meetings, however being married to a diehard jw, this is difficult to accomplish.
the kids do not want to attend, as the meetings are boring, as they have often said.
OODad is 100% correct. Do not allow your husband to abuse these poor kids.
I can really relate to this story. When we were little, we didn't want to go to meetings either. We would say we didn't feel good, had homework, etc. We were just guilt tripped into conceeding and attending the meetings.
Now I look back at it and think how children naturally recognize bullsh** when they smell it. It's the parents who are blind.
I feel so bad for you, being in the middle, not wanting your kids to have to endure this. You have my sympathy. It does sound like your kids are all "in the know." Hopefully your hubby will give up the fight and let them be.
i have wrote six pages so far it seems the more i write the more i have to say .i have many mixed thoughts its frustrating to have to go this.
i wish i could just fade but that is not possable.

Each person has to do what they feel is right for them.
For me, I just walked away. The congregation deserves no explanation from me. No one has asked for an explanation, I don't think they WANT to know. It has been two years since I abrubtly stopped attending meetings and going in service. Very little acknowlegement from them. Most of the do shun me, other's do not. 3 very brief, very generic calls from elders, no visits. They never gave a crap about me, why should I give them any of my time or effort?
You do what feels right to you and you will be OK. I know a part of you wants to save them from this cult. If you think it will help, do what your heart tells you to do.

hypothetical scenario.
you are a city manager in a major metropolitan city with a population of 3,000,000.. .
if the governing body was truly convinced themselves of the impending disaster and the fact that the end is imminent would they not focus their efforts in spreading the message through effective means such as telephone, television, internet, social networks etc?
Thanks for bumping this up as I plan to use this analogy next time a witness talks about the importance of the door to door prefacing work. Very good analogy.

so thats's good... i am just going to slowy work my way back into a routine.
That' s a good idea. Get yourself evaluated for what you would be good at. There are places that offer these tests for free. Good luck.

on my other post 'thinking of becoming a jw' people mentioned that once i was baptised i would be told / given rules of what i can / cant do, things like: how i act, dress, how i can have sex with my husband??
what i can and cant eat ( according to some research ive done).
i would be really interested to hear as many of these rules now - as i think its too late after one is baptised.. i would be grateful of as many as possible about anything any topic even thouse i havent mentioned.. thanks x.

over 40 yrs baptized, service, builds, talks and talks and talks that i put countless hours of prep into, elder, meetings, assemblies,----you all know.
but through it all i never bought the whole truth idea 100%.
no matter what it was, meeting, service, assemblies, i just couldn't wait for it to end.
Yes, I think this explains why some of the brothers I observed had such unexplainable behavior and reactions when I was still in. Sometimes things didn't quite seem right with some of them. Glad some of you have been able to break free.
