Just Read 1.5 Hours worth of Conti Case Files
by lambsbottom inread 1.5 hours worth on conti case files (examination & cross-examination).
here is my take (and i consider myself a pretty logical person able to set aside emotion...i've never been abuse but know people who have been).. the jury was completely right in awarding the judgement to conti.
as far as the award amount, i don't care to comment on.

I explained it this way to my son...: you bring your children to the day care next to your best friend's house and he takes his children there too. He finds out that a paedophile works there...so he removes his children but chooses not to warn you...a few months later one of your own children is molested...How would you feel about your friend if you found out he knew but didn't warn you because he feared the consequences of exposing the pervert?
The congregation elders knew they had a pervert amongst them...they kept the matter confidential to protect the paedophile...until he molested a child or more...how can they live with that now?

Quick builds- Were you on a team?
by Oneoutallout inwhich trade did you work with?
any interesting revelations or tales?.
-
NVR2L8
Yes I was. I participated in a dozen builds. I was a general laborer and did drywall, shingles, cabinetry and tiling. In the end I was assigned to cabinet making but every time I got called it was for jobs no one wanted to do like cleaning up demolition or breaking cement...they caught me once with that bait and switch. They even called after I went inactive...that was my last no!

Like Phizzy I attended every meeting and served as a MS. As I started waking up I changed job and started traveling more for business. It was a perfect excuse to step down from my ministerial duties. Then the DC came and after the final talk on the generation overlap we drove home and on the way I asked my wife if she realized what the society was telling us...she was clueless about what I was talking about. After explaining I told her that I had just attended my last meeting. She cried, then said she had no desire to live with an unbeliever. The following months she regularly went to each meeting and sisters made arrangements to get her out in service every week. She has since slowed down a bit but after almost 4 years and I can't see the situation changing anytime soon. Our relationship is fine as long as we don't talk religion.

Jehovah WILL provide......
by quellycatface inhi guys.. just found out today that my landlord is selling my apartment.
he says he selling it with me as a sitting tenant, so should be okay.
i'm still a bit apprehensive as i've been here nearly 8 years and my son is in year 9 at the local school.. my mum's words of wisdom, were, of course, "jehovah will provide.".

When I was full in I lost a great paying job after over 25 years...at the very same time a close friend was diagnosed with cancer. Both situations were the subject of many prayers. God got me a new job...but my friend died a few months later...I would have rather be unemployed but God saw things differently...

When Jehovah doesn't provide it's usually because you're not doing enough in his service...get your spiritual life in order and your financial situation will improve...

During my last few years in the cult I often thought of taking my life. I could not figure out why I no longer wanted to live especially when I had a good career, a loving wife and financial stability. At that time I was very active as a MS reaching out for more privileges thinking that this was the best way to achieve true happiness. Still many mornings on the way to work I drove recklessly in the hope to be in an accident that would take my life without raising suspicion of suicide. After learning TTATT I stopped going to the meetings at once and I suddenly no longer wanted to die...quite the opposite I started loving my life free from the WT. It's been almost 4 years and I want to live more than ever...so I guess I won't have to read the latest Awake after all.
