Once I attended a foreign language meeting in Florida and the WT conductor said "answer for us brother xxxx" everytime he chose a participant. At first I couldn't figure out what he was saying because of his strong creole accent and the brothers' foreign names all said at once. So I put up my hand and he said "answer for us brother NVR2L8...

Here i am....
by makersmark inhere i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.
i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.
-wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

Lets Think...
JWs are trained to accept and defend anything the WTS says without asking themself if it's right or wrong...so I am shocked that 2 elders are voicing their disagreement with the FDS! I wonder how many more "spiritual men" think the way you do but are afraid to express their disagreement. If you take time to examine the other issues raised in Makersmark's first post you will start discovering the truth about "the truth"...from there it is impossible to turn back. This is the point I am at and I can no longer take anything from the WTS at face value because they lied to me.

OTWO,
May I ask: as it been long since you left the "truth" and has your wife allowed you to explain why you no longer go along with the WT? I ask because since I stopped 8 months ago my wife seem more zealous for service and meeting attendance and she won't hear anything of the reasons being my loss of faith...

Nugget,
I have no idea if the CO is coming soon or not...I never ask news about the congregation. I had a hunch they would be coming since the morning before the COBOE was doing door to door work on our street and I saw him walking up our neighbor's driveway as I was driving out of our garage...I ignored him but my wife waved. I was surprised that he wasn't one of the two who visited the next day. He and I have had long conversations in the past and we enjoyed each others company but I never got a phone call or a private visit from any of my "good" friends since I stopped going to the meetings. Don't get me wrong, I prefer it this way, but it just goes to say that their love is only superficial.

Thank you all for your comments. As much as I want to make as few waves as possible, I also want my wife to stop wasting her life in the cult. I sometimes wonder how she would react if the elders viewed me as an enemy, kicking me out of the congregation, especially since I haven't tried to influence others, only voicing my concerns to her and my unbaptized adult son. Would the love I have for her and my family weigh enough to tip the scale of loyalty in my favour or would the love bombing prevent her from seeing that the congregation's judicial action has nothing to do with love? I guess for now I have to wait and see how the elders will view my refusal to discuss anything with them...

Today I received a visit from 2 elders. It was the first contact I've had with them sinced I've stopped going out in service or attending the meetings after the 2010 DC in June. I opened the door without inviting them in despite the cold weather. One of the elders came forward to give me a hug and I met him halfway not to let him inside because I had no intention in having a long conversation with them. They said they wanted to see how I was doing and we spent a few minutes catching up and chit-chatting. Then they mentionned that they miss me at the meetings and asked what they could do to help me come back to the Kingdom Hall. I told them that I knew their phone numbers and where the Kingdom Hall was if I ever felt the need to return but that at this time I wanted to be left alone. They said they understood, shook my hand and said their goodbyes. My wife still attends all the meetings and I'm sure they talked with her to find out what's going on with me, but she may have told them that they should talk to me directly if they wanted to know anything. We'll see how long they will respect my request...or how long it will take for them to ask if I still want to be a JW...

Heads up! Jesus is angry at the churches for their hospitals and feeding the poor......
by miseryloveselders innext week's congregation bible study will explain and illustrate why christendom is toast, and how we can contribute to the joy of christ by supporting "the faithful and discreet slave.".
the anger and the joy of the messianic king.

The sitter replies: "Look at all that I did! Aren't the windows clean? I made repairs to the house too, all for you!" Would the parents feel better? Harldly! They never asked her to do those jobs; they just wanted their children cared for. Her refusal to heed their instructions would infuriate them.
Jesus: I asked you to feed the ungry, clothe the poor, help the afflicted...what did you do? Build a publishing/real estate empire!Their refusal to heed his instructions would infuriate him.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Where in all the verses in Matt 25:35-40 does it say that these needs were spiritual? The WTS always weasels their way out oF every human being's obligation to come to the aid of those in need by saying that these verses apply in a spiritual way. One of the things that always bothered me is when we heard of a catastrophy in a distant land and that we were asked to pray for the well being of our brothers...what about the millions of other people in the same situation? Aren't we supposed to love our neighbour and even our enemies? So why aren't we praying for them? Of course the WTS will say that our responsibility if first toward those who are related by faith...there are fewer of them and it cost less to care for them alone. But other churches "that God hates" spend billions to provide relief to those in need, regardless of their religion...that should put JWs to shame.

The active force that animates all beings belongs to God and when someone dies, this force returns to God in the sense that he decides if he will bring you back to life in a human body on earth for everlasting life in paradise or in heaven as a spiritual immortal being....that's what I understood and believed for the longest time. When you consider the belief of an immortal soul, both are not too remote from each other, but JWs have to be different than christianity...
