WT books thrown into the dumpster...
by NVR2L8 infor the last few weeks i have been pretty busy as we were moving to a new house.
my wife did most of the packing but when it came to the move, i realized that there are things we own that we had forgotten about because we haven't used them for years!
on top of the list was old wt publications that no longer contain the "truth" and publications available on the wt cd.

August WT public edition - interesting front page image...
by NVR2L8 inevery stages of a boy's life are depicted: from a child to an old man...if the wt is so sure that the end is just around the corner, why are they leading the public to believe that today's children may mature and grow old?
are they now telling us that there is a possibility that young children alive today may grow old?
in 69 they told us that this wouldn't happen to us....

April WT: 6 prophesies you are seeing fulfilled - earthquakes...
by NVR2L8 innew light?
the article states that jesus never said there would be an increase in earthquakes, but that they would be "great" earthquakes in one place after the other...like we have seen lately.
this is quite a change with the wts' obsession of trying to prove that since 1914 there has been a significant increase in the number of occurances,comparing fictious numbers from the time of jc until 1914 and from 1914 until today!

April 2011 Awake page 27: Abuse ignored because of misguide loyalty....
by NVR2L8 ini rarely look at any wt publications anymore, but under watching the world, april 2011 awake quotes a newspaper article that blames the covering of sexual abuse on the misguided loyalty to the absolute authority of the catholic church.
i couldn't help thinking of the many cases of child abuse amongst jws that have been swept under the rug for the exact same reason - the absolute authority of the fds!
they have no shame pointing their finger at others when in fact they are as bad...if not worse in mistreating the victims of abuse.

Two elders visited me today...
by NVR2L8 intoday i received a visit from 2 elders.
it was the first contact i've had with them sinced i've stopped going out in service or attending the meetings after the 2010 dc in june.
i opened the door without inviting them in despite the cold weather.

From a fortune cookie: Don't let others stop you from doing what you believe is right!
by NVR2L8 ingoogle_ad_section_start previously wrongly posted under adult members.... a little while back we ordered chinese food and in one of the "fortune cookies" my wife found the message i quoted above.
as jws we view these messages as foolish and i even made up the message from my cookie to say that "i would get lucky that night"... strangely, the next day i found her message posted on our fridge's door with a magnet.
my wife still refuses to discuss any of the reasons behind my decision to stop going to the meetings, so i guess the fortune cookie message is her way of telling me she is not going to join me in leaving the "truth".

I am new here too!
by NVR2L8 infor a long while i have been coming to this site on a daily basis and i think it is time to introduce myself.
here we go: my parents learned the truth when i was 4 and i don't have childhood memories of how life was before they converted.
i was a model jw child, although quite mischievous at school.
