Is Watchtower totally off base on Armageddon?
by Vanderhoven7 into me it is quite evident that the gt spoken about in matthew 24, mark 13 and luke 21 is a one time, non-repeatable localized event resulting in the destruction of jerusalem and the temple followed by the dispersion of surviving jews throughout the nations.. however, what is not so clear to most is that the gt of revelation deals with the same event.
my understanding is that the gb of jehovah witnesses has no clue as to how to interpret the apocalyptic messages found both in the synoptics and revelation.
but steve greg has armageddon down pat.

A Jehovah's Witness family's excellent Letter of Resignation trending on exjw Reddit today
by Balaamsass2 ini got an email notice today on this excellent letter of resignation from a german family that is trending on reddit.
i thought i would share it here if anyone is so inclined to write one.
for those with pimi jw family and jw business connections, it may not be wise to share such a letter, but i imagine it must be very freeing to send such a letter.

Doubtful anyone of authority (ie at the Branch) even gets through it.
They will all have the same reaction:

The new light will be that we just don’t know.
They might try to sell that as NEW LIGHT, but it is obvious that they have NEVER KNOWN. Ain't nothing new about that!

An HOUR and ELEVEN MINUTES?
Someone really has a high opinion of what they have to say.
Bet it could be summed up in just the 11 minutes!
I quit wasting my time at the Kingdumb Hall (years that I will never get back) and I don't need to fill it with someone else's ramblings.
BTW -- I doubted the OP until I found time to look at all the backup here.
WTF said WT is going broke?

Seems to me they need to become more familiar with the Streisand Effect. No one would give a shit about it all if they were one of many religious groups investigated, but instead they throw up red flags and everyone takes notice that they are the ONE group protesting. Ya gotta wonder why!

Why did God stop intervening in human affairs and deliverance of his people?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe bible is full of stories of god intervening on behalf of those that had trust and faith in him.
he rescues his people from various battles, trials and challenges from their enemies.
the rescued individuals or communities are quick to offer praise and gratitude to god for his mighty acts on their behalf.. the story of the israelites’ exodus from egypt and the parting of the red sea is a prime example of god’s powerful deliverance in the bible.

Jehovah still intervenes in human affairs. He's just been more subtle.
So subtle that no one knows it.
When Jesus returns, the 'miracles' will start again.
Don't hold your breath.

Warwick sits on $70 billion?
by LaFrancia in70,000 real estate properties at an average value of $100,000 and perhaps we can say (no one knows for sure) that warwick sits on $70 billion in real estate value.
in the video (deleted by jwborg but available on the avoid.jw website) of the 2018-19 coordinators' committee report (english) shown to all congregations at the mid-week meeting, we find several curious and interesting indications:.
- at minute 6.52 seconds you see some data .

I think WTC is doing everything they can to make KHs a reliable revenue stream - but it is still not enough. More are fading and the only "new" ones coming in are born-ins. Eventually they leave also.
My experience as Acct Servant was that the bulk of the contributions came from 10-15% of the members. Typically older retired publishers (mostly women) who had a nice retirement and who had accumulated a nice nest egg. I recall one elderly sister who every month would write a $100 check for each contribution box. Local. WWW. KH Building. . . . and any special fund that was added, ie, bringing missionaries home for conventions. She was a little ditzy and I suspect her non-witness family members either didn't know or were not very happy with her spending their inheritance like that. IDK that she was "rich", but certainly had lots of land in an area that was growing and building, and although was obviously "frugal" in her spending on herself (clothing, cars, etc) she was happy to shell it out to
Jehoverthe WT Corporation.Other significant donations were from successful members who were successful in business. Likely a good IRS write-off and made them look good (to those in the know) and feel good about themselves. The same ones who always wined & dined the CO/DO/Bethel heavies.
Those older ones were a major source of income for WT and they are dying off.

return to the past?
Same theme as 53 years agoMy first thought was that they won't even have to work up new talk outlines, just "cut 'n paste" like they do WT articles. But that's all wrong because the religion is nothing close to the religion that it was in 1951! EVEN THEIR BIBLE HAS CHANGED!

I have found that many jws are not so obedient to the WTS and hide it from others, even elders. They feel if they don't get caught by men, nothing will happen to them.
That is certainly very common. I think it is why WT had to "allow" minor gambling (LOTS of JWs were buying Lotto tix) and going to the casino boats. Families who are "in the know" about how JCs work (elders and their wives/families) are often able to strategize their statements/confessions and avoid The Axe. Those that do not know how to play their game, go in unknowing and get kicked out while three assholes feel like bigshots and feel vindicated in ruining their lives.

Are you glad you got the Covid Vaccine? Did it help?
by liam ini didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.
practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.
now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.

It is not meant to be total immunity, but to keep any case less deadly, or a fewer symptoms.
That's not what they promised in the beginning. That was said only after the vaccines did NOT prevent the disease.
