Coronavirus Positive
by snare&racket inhey all,.
i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.
i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

We are very sorry for your loss. Be assured that we feel the loss (tho clearly, not so severely as you). Zing became an instant "hit" here with comments.
Please share your location and what was Zing's age and health.
Personally, just now can I say that I have lost a friend to COVID19.

Zoom meetings to continue thru July
by Wakanda inco is coming and expecting to zoom it in july.
also there is no talk about starting to slowly go back to the hall.
like having 1 group at the hall and the rest on zoom, etc.

The real determination will be on how the donation arrangement is working. If the donations actually GO UP, Zoom will remain forever.

Fun to read this old shit!
Cofty you were kick-ass by then as well! Thanks!
I recall "Snowbird" from past posts. I suspect this is why we don't read anything from her (sorry if she is a he) any longer as she got her ass handed to her in a handbasket. Somethings that some of us never lose from our old JW ways is fleeing the scene when we run up against a better adversary on "doctrine".

Fading
by Cordelia18 inhi i was on here a few years ago, i ended up caving to family pressure and returning to the borg i've since married and have 2 children .
all the reasons i returned are still here, my parents are elderly and i really don't want to hurt them but i just can't do it anymore i need to leave before my kids are brainwashed, i need to be clever this time .
last time i was dfed and became dependant on drink i am in aa and sober now and learning the true meaning of sprituality i know without a doubt that it is a dangerous cult, but i need some tips on fading, its so hard when i want to shout from the roof tops how blind they are.

I think the best way to "fade" is to have been "stumbled" by someone. Refuse to discuss it because you do not want to discourage anyone else. But, it's simply SO BAD that you must have some private time while you "wait on Jehovah" to rectify things. (Just don't "wait" in the KHall when you can wait at home!)

I think they are learning a valuable lesson not to live without some savings.
People have to quit living paycheck-to-paycheck. And don't rag on telling that some poor low-wage earners can't do that. Bullshit. All those low-wage earners that I know can afford cigarettes, booze, cell phones (better than mine), and have tattoos.
We have always lived differently. Frankly, a lot of that came from the JW mantra of "keep the eye simple". We have never bought anything (other than out first car and first house) that we cannot pay for with a check (cash). We might finance it, but we have the cash.
For as long as I can remember, the financial "experts" advised having a minimum of 6 months income in savings in case of a "rainy day". Well, folks, this has been a fucking hurricane. There should have been more planning for the storm.
Young people (my kids included) think they need to step out on their own into the lifestyle that their parents have achieved after 20, 30 or 40 years of working and saving. So they go into debt for a house they really cannot afford. They buy 2 new cars on credit. That big house needs furniture. CHARGE IT! They have two incomes but just barely scrape by...........until one of them gets laid off............of one of them get injured or sick.
You reap what you sow. Oh wait! Don't worry! The Government will bail you out. (And probably do so at the expense of the people who saved.)

How Is The Governing Body Viewed Today By Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inare they revered like the pope is to catholics??
back in the 1960s , fred franz and n.h knorr were the only men that counted.
after franz died, the governing body became more of an idolized entity.

I spoke to an old acquaintance they mentioned they didn’t care for a certain guy who makes all those facial gestures
By and large I think there were always revered, even worshipped. After all, they had the one and only direct connection to God. And while that attitude hasn't changed entirely, I do think the GB putting themselves out on JW/TV has cost them a little of there omnipotence. Old "Rubber Face" is seen as pretty weird by a lot of the R&F. They are more "human". Which in one way makes them maybe "more approachable" -- more "normal". On the other hand, mere humans are imperfect. And when they are seen as mere humans, their God-like status is greatly reduced.

Bill Gates Foundation
by jhine inhi everyone , how are ya'll ?
l have a question particularly for any americans on here .
l have an american friend from la who has recently been trying very hard to investigate bill gates and his foundation , she has shared quotes from a lot people making very serious accusations against bill .

jhine, it's proven that when people look at "facts" in their own "unbiased" way, they actually tend to openly accept new material that happens to support their already decided-upon view and they tend to find a reason to discount anything new that conflicts with their current view. They don't even realize they are doing this, even though it may be so apparent to an outsider observing.
JW's do this on things like the Noachian Flood. If an old vessel is found in the Himalayas, it must be Noah's Ark. PROOF of their belief in the Flood. If carbon dating disproves the age of life on Earth being on a few 10's of thousands of year old, it's FAKE or FLAWED or it's lying scientists trying to support their evolutionary doctrine.
It's like trying to convince someone that their ex-spouse is really an OK person.

Does God listen and answer prayers for coronavirus patients?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy cousin has been in a medically induced coma for the last three weeks due to the coronavirus.
we just found out today that he was sent to rehab for physical therapy.
he is awake, cannot walk, and cannot talk due to damage to his vocal cords from being on a ventilator for three weeks.. my cousin has many religious friends who have posted ''get well soon'' messages on his facebook page.

If you think God is interested in curing a person who has COVID19, where the f&ck was he to prevent them from being infected? Seems to be God is always AWOL when someone really needs his help.
With professional sports cancelled we know it cannot be that he is busy blessing football players with touchdowns or baseball players with home runs, so I just don't know WTF he is so busy with at this moment in time.
