It's easy in the US. You just have to claim that you are a "religion" and you qualify as "tax exempt".

How have Jehovah`s Witnesses ever gotten away with being a Tax Exempt Religion ?
by smiddy3 ini can never get my head around this one ?
don`t the powers that be ever really investigate religions that claim exemption from paying taxes because they claim they are a not for profit religion ?.
you would have to be a brain dead imbecile not to see that the religion known as the" watchtower bible and tract society" otherwise known as "jehovah`s witnesses" are nothing more than a religious publishing house that have made x amount of $$$$$ over the years since their inception in the late 1800`s to this day.

In 2020 In Your Country or State Are Race Relations Better or Worse Than Before?
by minimus inarchie bunker from all in the family was considered by many as a racist.
there are still many people who think and act like him.
of course, in today’s world, there are many extremes.

I can only speak for the area of the USA where I live. IMO the younger generation is much less racist than older generations. But, I see growing racism among blacks. The fact that Obama was elected by the MAJORITY of US citizens should clearly demonstrate that most were not racist. It took the majority white (non-black) population to elect the first black president.
However, we currently have blacks demanding that Biden select a black VP candidate if he wants the "black vote". Isn't it possible that there is a better candidate among the 85% NON-BLACK population? Claiming that the candidate's race is more important than his/her qualifications is flat out RACIST!
(Let's not get into the "his/her" debate. We all know any woman would be a better candidate than any man. At least that's what it seems is being said by not even considering a man for the position.)

What to do with old publications
by TonyMorronTheTurd inhi guys,.
it's been a while since i posted here, but i feel like posting again.. it's hard sometimes to find the energy to post here after i expend all my time working a full time job and pretending i care about the wt$ at the same time.. i've been trying to slowly wake my girlfriend up ever since i first posted here, and i must say it is a long waiting game that i am playing right now.
almost all my efforts are dismissed and i've been slowly losing hope.. anyways, what i meant to really post here today is about old publications.. honestly anything that has to do with the watchtower and jdubs, as of recently makes me feel like vomiting.

Repercussions for sexual immorality
by Veryconflicted inhello, i was hoping to get some clarification about how people are disciplined for immorality as a jw.
i became involved with a co-worker a few years ago, she was fairly aggressive and she initiated a physical relationship very quickly.
at the time i did not know she was married and a jw.

This lady is totally f*cked up with the JW Bullshit!
Obviously she has moved on. You should likewise.
Good luck!

Best way to preach to a JW
by Youngaposthate inwhen they come to your door knocking... the best way to preach back is.... handing them a comic book when they hand you a watchtower magazine..

If your question is serious -- the only thing you can do is "plant a seed" of doubt. Some thought that they might Google when they are alone or something that will nag them every time the matter comes to mind in the future.
What is that "one" thought or issue? There isn't "one" answer for that.
A person with whom I "studied" is who planted some of my doubts that contributed to my awakening to TTATT.

WTB&TS And The Lawyers They Employ.
by smiddy3 ini have been thinking about the legal departments that look after the wts interests around the world.i can`t believe these legal eagles offer their services on a voluntary basis like the r&f do.and i don`t believe their services would come cheap.. as an organization the size of jw.org and its offshoots of companys and interests around the world ,the cost of keeping them gainfully employed must amount to a considerable sum of money.. especially the law suits against them with child abuse court cases that arise on a regular basis ,and the government inquiry`s into the jw religion that is happening in different countries now.. all paid for by the voluntary contributions that come from the r&f for the worldwide preaching work .. contributions to pay for the wt organization`s legal department to defend themselves in court ?.
did jesus and the apostles pay lawyers to defend them in a court of law with funds donated by their supporters ?.

There are some attorneys who are JW's. The couple that I know donate their services to WTS. One was a convert and he/she even semi-retired from their law firm and worked full time at Bethel for several years. The other was a paralegal and his/her employer put them through law school and he/she works pro bono for WTS with the estates of local JW's wanting to gift $$ to WTS.
The high profile cases -- I suspect WTS hired the high profile (worldly) attorneys for some of these as there is too much liability at risk just beyond the case at hand.

Midweek Meeting looooooooong prayers.
by Davros inone thing that aggravates me is long concluding prayers, especially at the midweek meeting.
you work all day, rush home, grab a quick bite, dress up in meeting clothes.
then, go to the meeting.

There was a dear old CO that I loved that always told anyone assigned to a prayer at the assembly/convention to be mindful NOT to pray for so long that the audience thinks you are jealous that you did not get the talk as your assignment.
