What is Your Favorite WT Lie?
by Sea Breeze ini would like to start a thread on lies that the watchtower and their reps have told.
surely we all have one or two that truly sticks out in our memories, no matter how much we would like to forget.
my favorite wt lie: the reason they don't want to release the name of the "scholars" who worked on the new world translation is because they do not want to accept "glory and honor" from others.

Is it just me, or is Watchtower lowering its standards?
by ukpimo inin the past, we used to hear talks on:.
avoiding sexual immorality and porn, as well as masturbation and other sexual practices.
why evolution cannot possibly be true.

They have certainly lowered their standards, and particularly on some sexual matters.
Soft porn (aka non-abhorrent) is OK (wink wink) vs objectionable abhorrent porn (with greed).
Oral &/or anal sex (within marriage) are a personal matter (don't force her), vs in the past they were brazen perversions and abhorrent for a Christian.
Masturbation -- do they even address it anymore. How dumb was that policy? Statistics indicate 95% of single men admit to masturbating regularly while 5% of single men are known liars. (IDK, seems more popular with you gals too these days.)
Their position on gambling has been watered down through the years, too. Now, innocent "penny gambling" like a poker game or an occasional Lotto ticket is OK. I guess even dropping a few bucks playing slots on the Riverboat is "don't ask, don't tell". Just don't get "greedy" about it. That would be objectionable.
I wonder if we'll see some relaxing on birthdays. Already they seem to be in the "don't ask, don't tell" arena too, as long as you're not having a drunken orgy or a blow out for the kids. Just keep it quiet.
Even further evidence of the lowering of their standards, they've invited us to return to the meetings. Are ya kidding?

The amount of lying and deceitfulness is simply appalling!
It's not like they lied on one or two (or even a few) insignificant things. NO! What did they NOT lie about? It even involves some of their most important doctrines -- doctrines that separate them from Christendom and that identify them as "the one true religion". (HA!) I think that what they stated that has NOT changed would be a shorter list.
And, it still ANGERS me. They have damaged (and even destroyed) so many lives. And most assuredly, at least some of those "at the top" must KNOW they are LYING. The writers that use misleading quotes and "spin" the Old Light to New Light cannot be "in the dark" and innocent about all of the deception. No. They are liars.

That should end the disdusion.
FINALLY! Something I can agree with: END THE DISCUSSION!
It's a waste of time and energy. It just doesn't matter. Just go and live life to the fullest (for tomorrow you may die).

THE LONG ANTICIPATED INTERVIEW OF THE 2 NEW GB MEMBERS
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/dxyjupnklgi?si=2ux5wokg57xdpaob.
here we have the more indepth interview of the two new gb members jody jodele & jacob rumph and what jumps out to me is how borring they are, interestingly they don't go into detail when it dawned on them when they became anointed but they only go though their history and how they ended up in bethel.
as we already know jody jodele is the real estate expert that will help the gb capitalise on all this real estate money and jacob rumph sounds he spend alot of time as a missionary in south america, maybe he will provide a more insightful understanding of that continent to the gb since no indigenous jw will be part of the gb anytime soon.now what strikes to me as odd is the examples they both sited as the bible characters they want to relate more with, and no it is not jesus.. these modern-day governing body of jehovah's witnesses seems to be leaning heavily on old testament figures like moses and gideon as their role models instead of focusing on jesus, which speaks volumes about the kind of organization they’re leading.

Creation, Not Evolution Best Explains Genetics
by Sea Breeze inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umnhg0a9dlu.
evolutionists can change their model, and invent stories whenever they want to accomodate data.
biblical literalists are stuck with just one model, one account, and are unable to change it.

Trump wins
by gavindlt ini am non political and have never voted but nonetheless i have been keenly watching to see how the trump presidential race unfolds.
i believe that his involvement in propelling or influencing a leaning toward bible prophecy will unfold.
how, i can’t say but something tells me that this anomaly and outlier being trump is highly signifiant!

This whole billion dollar war chest now 20 million in debt.
I sincerely hope there is an audit to see where a BILLION$ went. I suspect a lot of VERY EXPENSIVE salaries and no bid contracts to friends and families. Of course, it would just be a waste of money. Apparently you can hire your brother/husband for "protection" and pay 100'$ of 1000'$ from campaign funds and that's OK.

Blondie's chart seems to indicate steady growth through the years, though slowing after 2016 (which was before Covid). I guess this is when there was considerable sell off of poorly producing (of contributions) congregations.
IDK if I believe that number of congregations is that indicative of anything. All reports on attendance are that it is on a serious downtrend. ZOOM attendance is questionable as any kind of "attendance". I personally know some who admit they sign on, but without camera, and thus are able to go about with whatever task they really want to be doing -- watching TV, whatever, etc
Clearly there is no zeal or urgency. The JWs I know personally and via reports from JW family are all vacationing big time. Nearly everyone has made at least one international vacation and very often they are to Europe. (That's probably a bigger deal for US citizens than others. Traveling to an international destination other than ie, Cancun is fairly expensive and a 10 hour flight.) You wouldn't know they are worried about the cost of milk and eggs.
