Considering his S-I-L was involved in the purchase of some of the WT Brooklyn property, I would really be interested in knowing Trump's thoughts on the Borg. I suspect he would "publicly" just "say all the right things".

JW's home schooling over-representing

speaking to an old elder friend recently about his decision to home school his high school aged kids.. he claims that here in australia, about 30% of the students that log into online classrooms are jw's.

the others are disabled kids - who cant physically attend class and the rest are long distance students.. another generation of under-educated jw kids on the way..

I know some homeschooled kids who are exceptional. Not JWs. And the parents were SERIOUS about homeschooling.
Most homeschooled JW kids with whom I am acquainted are NOT exceptional. Many just went through the motions of homeschooling. Field Circus was Field Trips. Meeting preparation was "reading". TMS talks was "speech class". I'd say at least half did take and pass a GED. Since none went on to college, it has been all they needed. All are in basic manual labor work fields. Some just getting by. Some in union trades and doing great financially.

in a civil complaint filed under seal and unsealed nearly two months ago, 11 congregations accuse the activist of violating federal, pennsylvania and maryland wiretap statutes.

in the course of the ongoing statewide grand jury investigation, all jw congregations in pennsylvania were subpoenaed to produce records pertaining to child sexual abuse.

so, meetings were arranged, county by county, between lawyers and elders on how to deal with the subpoenas.

WT's "free" lawyers gives them an advantage to sue, sue, sue and attempt to wear out the other parties. If they can be charged for the other parties' attorney fees should they lose, perhaps they would look at it differently.

I am building some wealth, not for me, not for the JW but for my children and theirs.
That's been our goal. Helping our children & grandchildren have a better "start" and more successful future (college if desired). Happily they have their own social networks outside of the JW system.

the elders have absolutely no idea what goes on.
I'm not so sure that is true. All those "old" elders were young at one time. It's the elders who converted to JWism that can be tough on young ones. They were "worldly" when sowing their oats so it was OK for them, but they will often hold a JW youth to the "higher" JW standard. An elder who came up born in probably still carries some guilt from their own conduct as teenagers.

Not only is it OK to rant here, it is one of the few places that you'll find anyone that understands what you are going through and dealing with. Non-JWs have no comprehension of how retaliatory JWs are to anyone who just chooses to leave their little high-control group.
"Don't go away mad. Just go away" is NOT the JW exit line. If you decide to "go away" they want you to go away crushed, beaten down, and miserable.
Hanging up on the millionaire aunt and basically "shunning" her might not have been the greatest financial decision to make as a potential heir. Doubtful you could successfully challenge the new will as you will have two "Christian" witnesses (in the legal sense) that will testify that it was her wish and intent to change it to exclude you. Hope that there is enough "righteous indignation" you have from taking your stand that compensates for the loss of $1 million.
Finally, the issue of new (real) friends. That's probably the toughest thing about walking away. As a JW you have almost unlimited, instant friends. Of course, as you have discovered they are "conditional" friends. And making new (real) friends really doesn't happen that easily. It will prove to be more difficult even in other church groups but that might be a place to start, although that opens you to being officially "removed" as a JW for "apostacy. If you wish to remain "inactive" vs "removed" (the new term for DF), you may have to consider that issue.

Then they can convince you that it is in the bible,,, but when really it,,, is not.
If it becomes important enough to them, they will just issue and New & Improved NWT and add it.
BTW -- Most JWs have never even read the Bible.
