Thinking about moving to Cincinnati...
by DanTheMan inmy employers' intranet website recently posted for a position located in cincinnati (which is about a 2 hour drive from columbus, where i live).. the requirements/skills listed on the posting seemed right up my alley, so i submitted my app online.
today i get an email from the hr lady asking me when i can interview.. i'm so nervous about this!
i've never lived far from home, and i'm very close with my family, to be honest they're all i've got, i don't have friends or a social circle to speak of.

Dawn, what you wrote made me both sad and angry at the same time. I doubt that you could do this, and I doubt that I could either, but I would be tempted to tell your elderly mother to call the elders when she needs help. It is very unlikely that they would give her the help she needs, which you are so willing to give.

How many here are nice & rich? Living well IS the best revenge.... come on
by NoBorg income on, leaving the org for being "materialistic" is one of the best ways to go.
how many have the luxury or at least the appearance of having this "sin"?
for obvious reasons i'm not going to comment on this, but i'm curious to know.

Well back to the subject. No, I am not rich, but I am comfortable. I am retired and live as well as I did when I was working. I left the religion at an early age and had the opportunity to get a good education, a good job, and a retiremnet account. So, overall, I am content.

Jim Pentons New Book
by mouthy ini just heard from jim.
he was telling me his new book will be published in about a year.
it is called" jehovah's witnesses & the third reich" by university of toronto press.he was telling me there is some very new revealing material in it that will prove how rutherford & the german bransh tried to ingratiate themselves with the nazis in the summer & early fall of 1933.. he told me this privatly .i did ask if i can repeat it, he said of course.

As my wife, Zazu, pointed out, Jim sent me a copy of his manuscritpt. He asked me to write a preface to provide a psychological profile of Rutherford. The first thing I did, was to read Penton's first book where it pertained to Russell and Rutherford. Then, I read a sampling of writings by the two of them from my library. As my wife stated, the more I read the madder I got. Rutherford was an evil man in my opinion. He made Russell look like a saint by comparison. Jim wanted me to put a pscyhological label on Rutherford, which I was not willing to do. If I did, I would say that he had a Narcisstic Personality Disorder.

I wanted to say another thing. If I was a demon, I would not chose to live in lamps, couchs, or books. After I pestered people all day, I would spend my evening flitting over the Grand Canyon or Niagra Falls. Another thing, why do demons demonize "wordly" people? They are already in Satan's clutches. It seems to me, that they spend all of thier time on JW's. I think that I will start a new class, Time Management For Demons.

I want to expand on something that Sirona wrote. Before doing so, let me state that I don't believe in demons. However, let's suppose that they exist. Now, for the JW's to come up with all kinds of mechanisms as to what they do is another matter. For example, if you were a demon, would you want to live in a smelly old couch? Not me. I would be sitting on the couch watching television. If the person burned the couch to try to get rid of me, would I go away? Hell no, I would move into the brand new, fresh smelling couch. It is all so silly.

Correcting Deceptions in Recent Magazines
by metatron inordinarily, there are so many half-truths and deceptions in each awake or watchtower.
magazine, that it's scarcely worth the effort to point them out.
however, two recent .

This is not recent, but Rutherford predicted that Germany would win World War Two. He did not cite scriptures. It was just his opinion. He was bad at both scriptural interpretion and nonscriptural interpretation.
