Hi Scootergirl!
Evan's team just released a PS2 game called "Dirt to Daytona" - a NASCAR racing game. It's a riot - There are all kinds of hidden levels and "award" spots in it - like one where a pit-crew guy becomes a giant godzilla-type thing and stomps all over the track (we rolled on floor cracking up).
Spyro is a fun game too - lots of cute dragon antics
I'm impressed with your technical grasp of the consoles. I sure don't get that stuff....
Hope you're staying warm up there..... brrrrrr

Good to see you again Flower!
I too put up my first "christmas tree".... lol
Actually, not my first, but the first time in over 14 years - scarey thought - however, we have like NO money, so we went out into the woods and cut down a little three-foot tall sapling (not evergreen.... didn't want to have to buy one of those water thingies). We stuck it into a kittie litter container, wrapped that in a towel (a green one!) and stuck whatever we could find on to it. It's a humble tree, and I possess absolutely NO Martha Stewart genes, but it is so amazing to look at it with all of its lights on.....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Wow, it's been a long time coming, hasn't it.... think of all the $$$ you'll save on birth control, feminine hygiene products, and bed sheets, new furniture, etc.......
Please do like others' said and take it really easy for at least several hours after you get home. Ha hahah. How long did they let you stay in the hospital after the surgery? I left without being discharged on the 2nd morning (hate hospitals) and vacuumed on the 2nd day. I went to the freakin memorial (yeah, THAT one) on day 4 because I was so super-spiritual. Don't do any of those things, okay?
Wishing you the best, lauralisa

We're having quiche for thanksgiving too! I'd love to have your receipe... each time I make it it turns out different and is always a 'suprise'... lol
I've just come off of a four-month long endurance contest with my will to survive. It was very difficult. Sometimes it feels like the building is on fire and I do not understand why these people who say they love me want me to just stay in there - they say the fire will stop - i don't believe them.... then it does go out. Whew.
Hope and peace to you; your well-being is important to many people, some of whom you have never met.

Discussion With My Dad...Ended Badly.
by Valis insome of you may know that my parents were expected for "dinner" on thanksgiving day.

Hey Valis,
Wow. I stay off-line for more than 24 hours and miss threads like yours. I should quit my job and pay more than the usual attention for whatever it was they said we should do that for....
It seems clear that your parents are in a position where they have to choose between YOU and The Creator of the Universe. If they are completely ensnared in the mindset, they might even see this particular "matter of personal conscience" situation that they are in as some kind of freak 'honor' or something. Having to make personal sacrifices (such as the loss of any reality-based relationship dynamics with their very own offspring) can be real spiritual power-boosters in the eyes of all of those other wonks in the congregation. Their decision has been made FOR them; it is written in the holy watchtower how one should conduct oneself in these situations; it takes STRONG persons who are willing to toss the whole organization, Jehovah and all, to even THINK beyond these constraints. People with this much presence of mind are rare and few.
I learned a long time ago that there is a 'family of origin' and a "family of choice." It rocks when you have a family that is - well, whatever it is that a family is - but most of the time it's just imaginary, really.....
Many people love you, and would love to come over and eat/drink/laugh till they pass out from sheer joy - I know I would - and I could burp like a huge insect and stuff and it would feel normal and stuff.
Grabbing your beer and running, laura

WHAT'S THE BEST POST EVER ??
by BATHORY ing'day cobbers.. i realise that there is no 1 bestest post, it is relative and subjective, but i ask for your personal all time favourite.. one that made you exited about being involved with this forum, look forward to getting back online and furthering it etc.. i remember the ol' days of h2o where all the heavyweights were, that ros came out with the gb post, remember that.
wow was that exciting.
personally my all time fav post, undisputedly, was hillary's "ferryman".. that was as close to perfection as i have read or could imagine.

Among many 'favorite' threads, I include Farkel's "You could be a d--f--- if" not only for its salient and brilliant insight, but for the role it played as a social barometer. It also made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe right.

Wow, Dan---- that was utterly fascinating --- I love the comparison to Enron et al - what a bunch of freaks!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We don't get much news up here in these polar ice cap-type regions. Hope you are well.
