Let's see if I can get Simon to lock another lousy thread.
Go ahead Charlie, fly the flag of cowards here too.
i went to my first peace rally and march tonight.
it was incredible.
at one time there were probably 350 of us all joined in solidarity.

ok folks, honestly, i know many of you have travelled some, and a few have ventured into some pretty exotic far off places.
where did you go on your last vacation?
where is the most exotic place you have visited?
The answer I'll give to almost all of those questions is Maui. I'll be leaving for there in 5 weeks again. We are staying for at least 6 weeks this time. Perhaps much much longer.
Maybe one of the strangers things I've done there is to hand feed a shark inside of a cave.
a lot of us can have different opinions about going war... some can support it... other can protest it... and thats what freedom of speech is all about.
but there's a threshold and we're past that threshold... we're at war.
so no matter what your opinions were before or even now no one can change the fact that we are at war and that won't change no matter how much those that oppose it try.
i've just seen the al-jazeera footage.
its truly shocking.
there were about 6-7 us soldiers.
Well Ang and Simon as Xena suggested you guys aren't able to tell the difference between a yellow ribbon and an altered flag. Most Americans take the flag seriously. But again, this doesn't suit your agenda so go ahead, do what you want.
Thankfully there are brave English who are doing more than their fair share over there and risking their lives for what they believe in, instead of just flashing some skin hoping to finally get a mans attention.
Moore had the right to make himself look the fool or not. I honestly don't care. But there can be a backlash from doing such things. For example Richard Gere certainly deserved a nomination for his work in Hours but he didn't get it. Inside word in Hollywood is that the oscar people are sick and tired of his turning every platform into a polictal speech. So he got left off.
No I didn't see Hours, just read about it. That's a chick flick. I'm a guy.

You win the ScheißecKopf award, LB.
Can I get some fries with that?

Erm ... can you show me where I've called you a dumbass LB
Naw you've never called me a dumbass Simon. But you've used to word to describe another's post here. Still you are right, I'm wrong.
Lovely Song Rob, you win the dumbass award for the week.
well since everyone's mind is on the obvious...thought i'd add a twist to it and hopefully no flame war will come of it .
what is your fave war movie??
i have 2: full metal jacket and apocalypse now.
Platoon

Well since I can't find a skirt that fits me so that I can flash the anti war crowd lets see if this little yellow ribbon might get me attacked. After all no use in posting something that is a sign of hope for our kids to make it home safe.

The yellow ribbon is about support, wanting our kids to come back home, nothing else. Denying anyone the posting of a yellow ribbon is narrow minded and silly.
