Does it sound reasonable that God would let Russell steal his 1914 nonsense from people who today would be labeled as "Apostates"? Then let him embellish this with pagan ideas? Is that how Holy Spirit works? Any reasonable person would find this reprehensible. Yet the WBTS would have you believe God fully supported this. So he must have deceived Russell only to tell him the truth many years later. Of course, that was only after his prophesies failed. Good timing on God's part. Are any of you still buying this? How about the flip flop on issues of life & death. Does it sound reasonable to have the HS let you believe lies at the cost of countless of lives. Who's responsible for the destroyed lives? All of this monumentally fails the very first test of the true religion; to love one another. Those of you still in..... get out now.

C.T. Russell and the Bible Students blessed and used by God?
by WontLeave inthere is no question that the first president of this corporation, c. t. russell, was used mightily by jehovah during the period when basic bible truths were being restored among gods true worshipers on earth.
we have great love for brother charles t. russell, for his works sake, and that we gladly acknowledge that the lord used him and greatly blessed his work - ka p239, jv p155, others (rutherford's speech announcing the adoption of the name jehovah's witnesses).
at their regular gatherings during the years 1870 to 1875, the religious thinking of these men underwent profound changes.

The WATCHTOWER isn't DECEITFUL , they are just IMPERFECT
by Minimommi ini recently started questioning my beliefs and i am not happy with what i found out.
i am married to a born in who admits that wtbs has some problems.
one of his favorite scriptures to quote is psalms 146:3 to "not put your trust in nobles", including the so called fds.

Hi Mini; Here's the problem with the WT claiming to be imperfect & yet, at the same time, being the only organization led by Holy Spirit & sole channel for Jah himself. Where's this divine guidance when they really screw up? Shouldn't we expect Jah to at least keep his organization from life- changing decisions that are wrong? Could not Jah himself be held responsible? As such decisions violate the very essence of Christianity, love for one another, they are glaringly manmade. That being the case, isn't this just another case of the blind leading the blind. Could it not be argued that one is better off then making his own decisions? Anyone can claim divine guidance until proven wrong.

What was your most DISTURBING event as an elder ? (Per T.O.S. no full names please).
by Balaamsass ini'll start the ball rolling.
dealing with kids in any type of judicial manner.
i would do everything i could to get parents to "deal with it-kindly" at home.

Personally knew & worked with a pedophile from another hall. Always thought he was a little too friendly with the younger boys from his congregation, but assumed as everyone else that nothing perverted was going on. Only later did I learn that he did, in fact molest several boys from that congregation. Totally destroyed those boys' lives. The elders never called the authorities. He was never disfellowshipped.

I recently attended a memorial & the elder at the end gave the corporate line of JW's having the prospect of never dieing. He must not have been looking at the deceased sister in front of him. Didn't quite work out for her.

Answer: How Wrinkly Old People Can Make Love (And Not Be Grossed Out)
by metatron init suddenly hit me, as i glanced down at a nice lady of many decades.................damn!
i'm standing so close to her that she has fallen out of my depth of focus .............and she looks many years younger because, like a camera pointed at doris day, with vaseline on the lens, i can't see wrinkles, scars, crowsfeet or much else beyond a smiling, angelic appearance.
hey, this isn't too bad!.

Come on Ms. You knew full well what was on this site. If you want to intelligently debate your beliefs, do so freely here. You won't be able to do that at the hall.

Repent because God's Kingdom has drawn close!
by Kosonen inhere on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.
consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.
and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.
