Do hospitals normally have 24 hour IT support?
Is it possible to find part time work in IT positions at medical facilities/hospitals?
Do part timers at hospitals have medical benefits/insurance?

What are your current beliefs on God and the bible
by Leander inwhen i first left the wts initially my intentions were to continue studying the bible on my own.
but now i really don't see the bible as being a true source of guidance.
as a witness i used to constantly read in the articles that god loves mankind, but how much love could there be if there are so many different religions all claiming to be the right one?

As a witness I used to constantly read in the articles that God loves mankind, but how much love could there be if there are so many different religions all claiming to be the right one?
Why would God allow himself to be so grossly misrepresented? I
t seems to me that if there were truly only one religion that was serving God correctly it would be easily recognized. Going even further why is the bible so difficult to understand if its meant to be a guide for mankind?
Why are there no signs or miracles being performed in our day?
If you consider the fact that miracles were at times used to strengthen the faith of the Israelites and also a way for God to make his prescence known, then given our current state of affairs we should be up to our necks in miracles because our generation needs them more than any other.
Today I consider myself to be an agonstic, if there really is a God he apparently is not interested in mankind at this particular point in time.

6 months out and at times doubtful

Thanks for the replies. I've been lurking and occasionally posting on this site for about 2 years now, its really helped me to make a break from the tower. Although on occasions I question if I made the right choice, in the end I believe I made the sensible and most logical decision. But it gets kinda tough when your entire family is telling you otherwise.

It was in May of this year that I resigned as a minsterial servant and stopped attending JW meetings. I made a fairly clean break from my congregation without the typical disassociation process. While some areas of my exit were very smooth others were extremely difficult. My mom took the news a lot harder than I expected and my wife is still having problems with my decision. However I still feel that I made the right choice.
Yesterday morning my wife was feeling somewhat depressed (this usually happens on a meeting day) that I no longer attend the Kingdom Hall with her. When this happens I usually try to explain to her why I could no longer put my ;faith and trust in a organization with an established history of false prophecies and doctrinal changes almost every other month. The more I tried to reason with my wife she became more unresponsive and unwilling to listen to reason. ;I guess basically I'm posting this experience today is because I'm just curious how often other people go through this type of thing. You attempt to show someone the facts about this religion and despite the evidence that the WTS is'nt what they claim to be people still ignore the truth.

The advertising on this site
by Leander injust wanted to say kudos to simon, this is one of the few sites that i visit where the advertisments are'nt forced down your throat.
i know a lot of websites need those advertising dollars to stay alive but nothing is more annoying than clicking away a gang of pop-up ads every few minutes.
so once again good job simon.

A few bibical/religious questions
by Leander ini've had these questions on my mind for a while and i was just curious as to what some other people's thoughts might be.. .
first off is the issue of the flood and noah.
in the bible account noah was commisioned to preach to those around him about the coming flood.

I've had these questions on my mind for a while and I was just curious as to what some other people's thoughts might be.
First off is the issue of the flood and Noah. In the bible account Noah was commisioned to preach to those around him about the coming flood. What's interesting about this account is that the people duing that time period were not familiar with the concept of rain. So one wonders if the people Noah spoke with may have thought he was a older man who was losing his edge. So that leads into my question:
Was it fair to destroy people who had a valid reason for doubting Noah's warning?
After the destruction of the earth's inhabitants during Noahs time God promised that he would never destroy the world again by flood and to symbolize this he used the rainbow. Is this actually suggesting that God made a mistake? Why would a being who is perfect in action need to make a promise that he would never do something again?
Another question is in regard to what JW's refer to as the issue that God is allowing to play out. That issue is that God is allowing current world conditions to continue on to prove that only he has the right to rule over mankind. However there are some interesting questions that can be asked in regards to that issue.
How is the issue that man can't rule himself being proved if Satan is being allowed to influence human affairs?
In order to be fair in determining if man can make his own decisions apart from God should'nt he be given the same circumstances that Adam and Eve had?
Finally the last question concerns the treatment and punishment of humans and spirit beings. All through-out the course of the bible we learned about humans who have suffered immediate punishment from God. In many of those situations the punishment was death. However no where in the bible was there any mention of a wicked or erring spirit being suffering the punishment of death. So that brings us to the question.
Why are demons who have committed sins far worse than any human can hope to make allowed to continue living when humans have been killed instantly for lesser errors?
Why will Satan and his demons be allowed to mislead people after the thousand year reign? (Revelations)
These are some questions and concerns that I have had on mind for quite some time. It's easy to understand why so many people have a difficult time putting faith in the bible when there are so many issues and questions such as these that have no practical answers.

So for those of you who have rented out to others before what would you say is the worst aspect of landlording?
How do you deal with people who don't pay or are slow with the rent?
On average what would you say the condition of your property is like once a tenant leaves?
To kind of flip it around here are few questions for tenants.
Does it take a long time for your landlord to take care of problems that arise within your apartment?
If a landlord offered free cable or other amneties (sp?) would you be more inclined to move into a slightly less attractive apartment?
What would you like to see a landlord do more of in the future? (rent reductions for early payments, cleaner buildings, quicker response to apartment issues, etc..)
