So far I've worked out everyday for the past 17 days, I usually try to do weight training at least 3-4 times a week and I usually do some cardio everyday. I've also been trying to clean up my diet a bit. I've managed to stick with basically vegetables and grilled meats, although I strayed a bit over the last 3 days. (fortunately it was'nt by much)
So how many of you out there are working out?
What goals are you trying to acheive?
Are you happy with the way you look?
My goal is to get down to about 230-240, I'm naturally a big guy but at about 230 I think I would be ripped. I used to workout quite a bit in my early 20's and I maintained a weight of about 200-210. Since then I've put on more muscle but also more fat, fortunately I have lots of determination right now and I plan on working my ass off until I get lean and mean.
So jump right in, whats your fitness goals and story?

It Wasn't All Bad (smile)
by Frenchy inthe congregation i belong to is small and most of its territory is in the rurals.
there is one territory in particular that is some distance from the hall and so it does not get worked as often as the closer ones.
then he said: "i cant talk to you people, you dont believe in hell" .

The Bible: It does'nt make sense
by Leander inas i was exercising this morning i was thinking about my decision to step down as a ministerial servant and also to stop attending religious functions of any kind.
i've often felt that jws were somewhat flawed in their interpertation of the scriptures, but this morning it kind of hit me all at once that no 2 religions are going to have the exact same beliefs even though both religions might be using the same translation of the bible.
this disturbing fact raises quite a few thought provoking questions:.

As I was exercising this morning I was thinking about my decision to step down as a ministerial servant and also to stop attending religious functions of any kind. I've often felt that JWs were somewhat flawed in their interpertation of the scriptures, but this morning it kind of hit me all at once that no 2 religions are going to have the exact same beliefs even though both religions might be using the same translation of the bible. This disturbing fact raises quite a few thought provoking questions:
If God really wants us to know him, why would it be so difficult for mankind to get a similar or correct understanding of his word the bible?
Why would Satan be allowed to corrupt or alter God's word when there are honest people truly seeking to learn about God thru the bible?
Why are there no miracles, prophets or divine influence in modern times the way it was in bible times? Especially considering that our time period is one that has the greatest need of any other period in human history?
If angels were persuaded to leave heaven and join in with Satan, why would God banish Satan and all his demons to the Earth where imperfect humans dwelled? If angels who lived in the very presence of God fell prey to Satan what hope is there for humans?
Why have humans through-out bible history been punished with death, yet Satan and his demons have lived for thousands and thousands of years? Also has there been any human who has sinned against God the way Satan has?
Those are just a few questions that we could ask about the bible and God. In order for a person to have faith there needs to be a basis or foundation for that faith to be built upon. In my 30 years of existence I've come to realize that the bible does'nt build a solid foundation at all, in fact a close examination reveals the bible to be on very shaky ground.

And what makes me even more annoyed is that I had several scholarships I could have used to prepare for the medical field or either my first love architechture. Of course it would have been unheard of for a witness kid to actually prepare for a future, so I ended up skipping school in favor of pioneering.
Grrrrrrrrr I need something to punch right now

I'm going nuts at my job. I just feel so freaking trapped in this cublicle. I feel bad about complaining because at least I have a job, but its like my sanity is slowly leaving me. I guess I'm what you call a creative type of person, I usually thrive in situations where I'm able to use my creative abilities. In particular architechture has always been an interest of mine, unfortunatlely I don't have the patience (or the resources) to spend 4-6 years in school again.
Can anyone suggest to me other ways to earn a living without being trapped in a 40+ hour job?
I almost feel like selling everything I own and starting over with a part time job

What would it take for you to be happy
by kenpodragon inwhat would it take for you to be happy in life?
does it take the fall of the organization, or just one person?
or does it take something else completely unrelated to the witnesses?.

Would you rather have more time or more cash?
by Leander init seems like unless you're incredibly wealthy or lucky that its impossible to have both at the same time, especially if you're a working stiff.
right now between my wife and i we make a fairly decent living, however we don't have a lot of time to do things together (or alone) until the weekend comes around.
and we all know how short weekends can be, not to mention if a lot of errands need to be done that can eat up your time fairly quick.

That sounds great Zen, how did you convince your employers to give you a 4 day week
