JW said they are unique
by StephaneLaliberte inlooking at a news article, i read the following:.
“that’s one thing that’s unique about jehovah’s people,” said marty mettler, a spokesman for the green bay convention.
“they even tell the hotels when they book they’re coming because some people book and don’t show.

Yeah, yeah, and JWs in some African countries cross croc infested waters to get to an Assembly .... but so does everyone else there because that's the only way to town from the village. ☺ -

1 Corinthians 4:6-8 NET
I have applied these things to myself and Apollos because of you, brothers and sisters, so that through us you may learn "not to go beyond what is written," so that none of you will be puffed up in favor of the one against the other. [7] For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not? [8] Already you are satisfied! Already you are rich! You have become kings without us! I wish you had become kings so that we could reign with you!
^---Er, the opposite of this. They'd consider you making fun of the self proclaimed "glorious ones". They due tend to think a position makes them holier than everyone else and that they are ruling kings in the here and now. Or at the least they think you are their slave ... so you don't question or make fun, just OBEY.
Also, they consider themselves 'mother'. So i guess that makes them a queen, like Babylon the Great. This is not to say that next week this may all change.😉
Remember these men are easily butthurt, and they have elevated their word to be equal to God's. They have little humility. You might encounter a few problems, lol.

New news item on JW.org: conscientious objection
by Anders Andersen inwill jehovah's witnesses protect freedom of conscience?
seon-hyeok kim is facing one of the greatest challenges of his life.
in early 2015, this 28-year-old husband and father appeared before a judicial committee on charges of apostasy because he is a conscientious objector against shunning.

Heretic! Lol
How dare he stand up to religious 'teachers' and their over the top unscriptual rules which bear on his conscience.
However, we are glad that everyone else in Christendom has. They are to be appreciated for their efforts. Obeying God as ruler rather than men.
Those elders erred, they unlike the CO were patterning themselves after Christ. Forgive. Show mercy and love. Whilst the CO is only concerned with "company" rules and procedures; he could care less about the human aspect, his 'brother'.
A CO and the GB would have disfellowshipped Christ for healing a sick person on Sabbath. And what do you mean just washing your hands is enough? Go up to your elbows, show us your piety you rulebreaker! We speak for God! Rules and procedures over people. The complete opposite of Jesus.
JWs are quick to cite a country's conscientious objector law when it suits their needs but internally they have no such common law for members. The governments are better than they are with respect to human conscience.

let it be resolved: The remnant can not be the generation of Mat. 24.
by prologos indebating challenge: since the wt doctrine of the anointed generation must conform to bible teachings, and math 24 stipulates that the "generation " outlives "all these things" , and the anointed do not, how could they possibly be the generation, overlapping or not?

What I find interesting is this.
At one time you couldn't own a copy of the Bible. That way RCC priests could tell you anything and you couldn't question it.
Now that anyone can own a Bible, you are told as a JW you can't understand it without a group of men interpreting it for you .... and you can't question them.
Even when the group of men keep opining that the Bible doesn't really mean what it says unless they think it means what it says whenever it says something ... and sometimes only part of what's being said.

Er, because "they" aren't "them". If they die before seeing "all these things occur", then they aren't part of 'what' they think they are. There's that nagging prerequisite of being alive from start to finish.
It's quite simple actually. Don't need anyone to inject upon or further translate anything Jesus said cause he was talking to fishermen, housewives, and regular everyday ancient people, not 21st century nuclear physicists.

I want sacrifice not mercy! That's what Jesus actually said in JW minds when confronted about breaking "the rules". Go in the corner and be spoken to by no one!
How many months did the Prodigal's whoring boozing son have to wait to get back in his father's house after his father stopped shunning him? Oh wait ....
Shunning? Pffft! JWs don't pay attention to a darn thing Jesus said. Not too sure mentioning the Golden Rule would have much impact.

New Bible, In Spanish.... Why taking so long?!
by Doubtfully Yours inis it possible it's not like they initially said, that it was just having god's name added in places where it had been deleted, and that perhaps they're making more adjustments to it in order to fit our doctrine?.
come out with the freakin' new bible in spanish already!!!.

Spaniards are like Paul, at times difficult to understand. 😆
Besides, trying to directly translate something from English to Spanish takes time as some things don't translate. Then it has to be translated from Spain Spanish to Latin American Spanish and it's many variations. Last someone has to figure out a translation for the Nicaraguans.😃
They have to go around changing all the vosotros and vais to ustedes for one thing.
Aguas!

Do JWs ever doubt that the end is really coming?
by dogon inas a former dubber i had many occasions to doubt that the end was coming.
i was told it was ok to doubt but not to think about it too much and wait on jehovah.
that bull shit lasted until they changed the meaning of generation in 95 and that was the end of that bull shit for me.

Yes, anyone around for over a decade will have doubts. Its only human. My mom used to be really vigorous about the "soon" in her lifetime but now I notice she has become more "maybe" and detached. And she looks so worn down.
Letting go of the expectation of anything happening before you die after decades of earnest anticipation has got to be crushing. You know they doubt but they won't say it ... it would be too crushing to admit even if they had no fear of admission.
Some have spent their lives literally wearing out their bodies and minds never having any time for themselves under the heavy loads and burdens placed on them (by WTBTS) thinking "soon".

Who is your " I am" that your voice should be heard?
by The Rebel ini was recently thinking before i became " mike" i was an innocent baby, then as the days passed slowly by, i developed a sence of " iam".

1. I am me
2. No one believes as I do, they are not me.
3. I don't. It is not important if people believe as I do. My beliefs can only be mine.
