  i work with a guy that was raised a witness.

  he is in his late 20's maybe 30. he was born in but never baptized.he was in the army at one point a couple of years or so; he managed to avoid action.

  he recently married his live in girlfriend(she is catholic, but he's working her to convert).his jdub mom lives with them and has before their mariage, and he is studing.. at times he has the new convert zeal.he has engaged me in biblical conversations but doesnt seem to know know how to defend his faith.he is thoroughly convinced tho and gets upset if you don't agree.he doesn't get abusive just visible shaken and dumbfounded.this is what i find odd.. #1 he can't defend it, basically he doesn't know what he believes.. #2 he's been around it that long and he is sitting on the fence, which is something he thought to accuse me of once, which is when i proceeded to let him have it with things i've seen and learned that he couldn't defend.. i dont hate the guy i get it.

  on my last conversation with him i actually wish i could give it to his wife. but strangely his mind set seemed like he wouldnt even go there hard to describe the type of bloak

  I dont hate the guy I get it. It's just that now that I'm on this side it gives me a different perspective. and sadly he looks foolish no insult intended i look foolish all the time. Just ask my exwife.lol

  Scavenging for members at their place of work

  a jw came in as i started my shift today and said that he tried to contact me before but i wasn't there.. i'm deaf and the brother was from an asl congregation.. i used to do calls like that but didn't realize how irritating and upsetting it could be for the employee/householder.

  i told him that i used to be a jw but quit.. he asked me if i was under discipline or df'd or something..

  wtf?!

  sorry white dove just read this whole thread. hang in there! i think everyone has given you good advice already both sides have, and you've been at this longer then me, so you already know how to handle yourself. but i can imagine how you must feel.

  How do JW's know that the GB is getting closer to the truth?

  their claim, to cover up changed teachings, is that they are always getting closer to the truth.

  how do we know that the gb is closer now than they were 50 or a hundred years ago?

  how do we know that the gb hasn't been drifting away for the last 50 years?.

  Not that it matters but i also happen to believe jdubs are wrong about the cross, the 144,000 interpretation, trinity beliefs of other christians, great crowd and other sheep ( 2 or 3 daisy chained scriptures that dont say anything like they tell you)interpretations, fds, disfellowshipping. and thats enough for me. But I'm a newbie so I don't count.

  the article states that jesus never said there would be an increase in earthquakes, but that they would be "great" earthquakes in one place after the other...like we have seen lately.

  this is quite a change with the wts' obsession of trying to prove that since 1914 there has been a significant increase in the number of occurances,comparing fictious numbers from the time of jc until 1914 and from 1914 until today!

  Lead Books: Lose Cross, Run With Yahweh?

  if these lead books prove to be genuine, they may present the 'bernie madoff' governing body of jehovah's witnesses with a dilemma:.

  should they highlight them because they may mention 'yahweh' in a christian context or reject them because jesus didn't die on a stake?.

  if they are smart ( and who knows, given their ignorant, biased frame of mind), they might run with the 'yahweh' stuff.

  sorry if i pissed some of you off when i started the troll thing . I know i'm a newbe but i have an opinion too that being said i will watch it .but that also being said some people here go off a lot worse then that on others.but really i'm sorry i dont want to hurt know one i like it here because since my exit youz guyz really have been a form of therapy.

  on topic i would love to show this to my brothers and atleast start to get them to start thinking but i dont know if even this would work, because if the wbts doesnt mention it it doesnt exist.

  a few days ago i entered on a discussion on jesus geniology.

  i mentioned about the missing years from 12 - 30 of jesus life not in the bible.

  hi everyone, ive never been on any forum before, of any nature, i came accross yours by accident and have been amazed at how uniform all our experiences are re our time spent as jw,s accross cultures, continents, ages and the sexes,(fitly united) but only in grief !!!

  im from ediburgh, though it could be anywhere in the world, and as long as i was under the wts( loving umbrella) i could be assured of that life sucking negativity.i spent 9 years of my life allowing non enteties,human scrotums to suck the very marrow from my bones,i ended up devoid of any life, unwilling and unable to defend myself from constant harrassement and character assassination.

  the anger has subsided and im ok,but like some of you still a bit disorientated.

  Hello and welcome !

  I totally agree I've had similar experience as has many.It makes you think ; why so many people have the same problem with them if there is "nothing wrong " with them.But they will say it's everyone else with the problem.I might add the most bi-polar, self-righteous, craziest people I've ever met.
