background: i joined the jws when i was 21, left about 11 years ago.. up until recently, i had never been in a relationship that went longer than a few months.

and that was just one.. i've been with my current for the past 3.5 years.

she's, just, okay.. i've never felt like, oh, i love her so much.

She left, haven't spoken with her since. I imagine she's spent the past few nights at home crying, crying, crying, crying, crying. She's like that; has a deep self-pitying streak.

give me a break! You've been leading her on for YEARS. You say she really loves you. Of course she is crying. You took 3 1/2 years of her life that she can't get back...

I just don't want to hurt her. I really, really don't want to hurt her.

Too late! Stop leading her on. The more you lead her on, the more you hurt her.

July 15th Study Edition Is Up..

not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but yeah.

they just posted up the new watchtower...with the confusing new information.. time for me to go dive into this "new light" and try to see what sense it makes.

of course cedars already nicely did a run down for us.. .

w11 8/15 p. 22: "We thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones."

^^And that fact shows that the GB never really believed the anointed JWs were the FDS at all, because if they had really believed that teaching they would have maintained a global network of anointed ones to get their input on things.

'1600 years of Ice melting in 25 years is a bad omen'

glaciologists from ohio state university have been studying the ice fields in peru.

tropical peru is home to ice formations 18,000 feet up in the quelccaya region, the largest of these tropical region ice sheets.. the glacier is melting so quickly that plant samples are having to be frozen artifically so that scientists 30 years from now can have something to study, lonnie thompson from the university said in the interview.

the ice field is the smallest it has been since the last ice age.. peruvians rely on the water from the glaciers, which will be reduced by 50% in their lifetime.

I think this trend is real and it's the reason the Faithful and Discreet Slave was changed to the Governing Body only. They want to prevent any challenge of their authority from the annointed.

could be. I mean what if masses of JWs started partaking? Under the very recent 'old light' the masses of partakers would be 'The Slave' so the GB would have to listen to them if they all got together and got vocal...so of course they would have to change who the "Slave" is...

I hope this is real. It would be too cool.

Identity Crisis: Who Am I?

after learning ttatt, i have completely abandoned christian fundamentalism.

thus, dropping many superstitions, prejudices, and biases associated with legalistic interpretations of the bible.

although i am agnostic, i still adhere to many christian principles, not because i think they are divine truths, but because i've benefited from the wisdom.. since i no longer believe in the inspiration of the bible, i repeatedly find myself falling into questions of conscience, ones which i've never faced before... .

Did you have an identity crisis when you learned TTATT?

If you were raised in the org, it is normal and natural to have an idenity crisis when you leave the org. It is the same idenity crisis teenagers normally progress through as they grow into adulthood.

It is our job as teenagers to figure these things out. It is at that time of life that we figure out who we are, and by the time we are in our 20's most people have formed some kind of an identity for themselves.

People raised in the org do not get to do this important work of growning up. People raised in the borg must take on the ready-made idenity of a JW.

So, once we are out of the JWs we have to figure out about ourselves what most people figured out about themselves when they were younger. What do I believe? What is important to me? Who AM I?

Try things out, learn, keep your eyes open...that's how teenagers do it... :) It takes most people from about 12 to 22 to do this work, so give yourself a few years and have fun being your true self.

i am in need of adivce and help.

i still feel a little nervous typing out these words on an "apostate" website.. i am a born-in jw, 4th generation.

While most people can use pot with no ill effects, some people can have very bad reactions...it is even connected to triggering serious mental illness in some people ( a small minority of people).

I'm thinking maybe pot is NOT for you...
