Xena vs XenaWarrior
by Windchaser ini'm a newbie here, but i used to post a lot over at beyond jws when xena was there, damn, several months ago.
i would go into chat and talk about old times and be hurt and a little concerned because xenawarrior didn't remember the stuff i was talking about.
but, she was always kind to me.. jim tx told me tonight that xena (from texas), who used to be xenawarriorprincess is now xena.

"seven stars" of Revelation 1:20 - JW...
by stevieb1 in.
according to the march 15, 2002 wt page 14 the "seven stars" of revelation 1:20 in christ's righ hand apply exclusively to appointed jw elders today and since they and the governing body are under christ's direction we should submit to their leadership etc.. .
at the kingdom hall last week i heard a talk in wich the speaker intimated that since the congregations in asia minor all received letters they were organized in much the same way as the wt is today.. what is your take on this matter?

Memorial attendance
by QUANTUM ini have worked for and with a jw for over twenty years.
for the last three years he has not attended church in any way.......that is except one.......the yearly memorial meeting.
prior to this inactivity he was a staunch supporter in every way a witness is expected to be.
-

Memorial time is the only time of year that they publish attendance figures, since it tends to be the best attended.
The 6M figure is for door knockers, only, whereas the week to week attendances would have been somewhere between 6-15M.

2 Things I notice
by Legendary U.2.K. in#1 the jehovah witness told me 2 weeks ago that, the 144,000 was part of their group, i'm sorry but i'm just not falling for that.. lol, i love the wt, i speak to the witness about everyday believe it or not, but in revelation it use the word> "were" redeemed(kingjames)?
in revelation chapter 1 verse 1 it said's things that must shorty come to pass, so it's common sense that some "messianic prophecy"s has happen and some have not, example(happen) revelation 12 verse 12, and about the 144,000 either they were taken already or they are dead in hell(grave) waiting till after armageddon.... but here's the weird part, the witness told me that some are there, and the rest is still alive, with the wt system... "the big assembly" big kingdom hall, i love going there, the yummy cakes they had, bring back memories... anyway i dont see how the 144,000 would be part of them, seems strange?
what y'all think?

U2K:
Did they tell you that they believe that ALL the remaining members of the 144,000 are JW's?
I'm waiting for "peace and security" to be cried out in the middle east, in Koine Greek, since that was how and where it was originally vocalised

Question regarding divorce
by docpalo ini have a conondrum that exists in the lowell, ma.
congregation.
i left the borg 12 years ago.

"Yeah", what Neon said...
According to JW law, divorce is permissible, as long as they don't get into the sack with someone before you do.
Funny thing is that even some of the stauncher churches accept divorce on the grounds of abandonment (1 Cor.7:15).

Sifted As Wheat???
by VioletAnai ini was just pondering the scripture, but i'm not sure if it's satan who's demanded the 'faithful' to be sifted as wheat.
i can't remember where the scripture is either.
my question is: why did jehovah give in to his demands?

Plm:
Entrapment - I don't see any rules against that in the bible.
Maybe it was a choice of that or double jeapordyYK:
And that's why God has asceeded to the Devil's demand
It is? What is your scriptual evidence that God has ever done anything that the Devil has demanded of him?
That prophecy by the way has a final application
It does? Where does it say that?
Jehovah's organization
Which one would that be then, since so many lay that claim?
Surely not that off-the-wall one, that we all were once a part of?Edited by - LittleToe on 25 June 2002 10:32:22
