  @Listener - I didn't intend it to be a cliffhanger but I've been trying not to exceed 45-50 minutes as this thing was so dang long, and when that came up at the 46 minute mark I thought- wow that's a good ending...

  As for this brother named Walter, he wasn't an "accuser" per se, he just mentioned to them that he was worried about me. They only had a phone conversation with my long time friend Joe, and then one txt I had sent to his estranged wife saying that 1914 was crap.

  @man oh man - It can totally make a person sad to think about these trapped and captive minds, especially since they are for the most part decent people, just stunted by the WT in their thinking ability.

  @MrFreeze - I can't believe I got the elders to talk to me for that long either actually.

  And yes, I appreciate that many of us don't believe in God/Christ/The Bible the same on here, but it has been awesome to see so how everyone on JWnet and YouTube, et al. are banding together "Against the Watchtower Power"! That's what's gonna make us stronger- not fighting, not chopping down believers OR so-called unbelievers!

  @Sauerkraut - Relief is good...very good! And yes they do need help that's a very loving attitude.

  Shortly after releasing Part 5 of my apostasy trial I received this email:

  ------------ Eric I watched part five. It was great. I just want to ask a quick question. I notice that you certainly talk the language of the Kingdom Hall and you are trying to reach these elders so I applaud that. You made a comment about Baptists using hell fire as a theological weapon (not your words) to let people know if they don't belong to the Baptist Church they are going to Hell. Were you using the perception of JWs or have you ever seen a Baptist church that believes that. Baptists certainly believe in Hell and an eternal Lake of Fire, however; we believe that salvation is through faith in Christ alone and not through attendance at our churches. There are a few deviations within the Baptist camp but we are pretty unified that salvation is through Jesus alone and it is secure and has nothing to do with attending a Baptist church. Again, I'm not being critical. You may have been relating to them, you may have found some unusual Baptist that believes that, I'm not sure.

  Pastor James Thank you for your kind words and commendation. Yes I was speaking to them in their lingo and using the misconceptions they carry around in their heads, which includes the notion that all Baptists preach fire and brimstone from the pulpit. As I was saying it, in the back of my mind the fact that this is a stereotype some have about your church crossed my mind but it had already been spoken so I pressed on with the analogy. You are right to bring this up and defend your faith and your church, and I would like to thank you for giving me this gentle counsel. I want to apologize if I besmirched the Baptist faith, as that was not my intention. More and more I am learning that Judgment belongs to our Lord Jesus and not to us and when we point out a straw in our brother's eye the log in ours only grows.   • Our culture as JWs is based on works and it's not right

  @Resistance is Futile - Yes very much so they are policy enforcers- remember, they made a vow to uphold the Organization!

  @Flipper - They were talking about and trying to respond to many things theyhad never heard of...they were at an obvious disadvantage.

  @Tatiana - That is a myth that is cultivated among the faithful and a great point that you make. They DO NOT have special knowledge, they do not have more Biblical insight. Much of their skillset lies in being good organizers, speakers, and paper pushers. Some Elders are good at shepherding but those are few and far between in some congregations.

  Believe it or not, another brief elder encounter yesterday...

  it was another elder from my judicial committee, came up to me after i'd strapped my daughter into the car.

  two things that struck me as different were (1) he didn't feel a need to bring a second elder along with him as if something that required two witnesses was going to be said by someone who'd been df'd for two years and 99.9% absent from meetings as well, and (2) he actually seemed genuinely friendly.

  he simply asked if i was planning to come to the meetings again anytime soon.
