TD, an objection to technology would be living as the primitive tribes do, thus allowing for sustainability. However, that just seems like an incredibly boring life to me.

Paradise earth doctrine - did it strike anyone else as a bit odd?
by sseveninches ini have neglected to read jwfacts.org since discovering jwn a few weeks ago (remnants of the "apostate" defenses in action), but recently i decided to dive head first into it, and it has been eye-opening.
of course, some of the information i already knew through reading jwn, but one of the pages that really got my attention was the paradise earth topic under "questionable doctrine".. paradise earth caught my eye because way before i started having doubts about jw doctrine, i have always been asking questions about the topic - not to raise doubts (since i didn't have any back then), but just for my personal understanding, and to see how plausible it could be.
in the past i have asked things like:.

There are so many inconsistencies with a Paradise Earth. In fact, I don't think it ever existed. Just look at predation/parasitism. It's gone on long before any so called "Garden of Eden".
If you still believe sharks, crocodiles, lions, or any predatory animal will one day eat "hay", you've owe it to yourself to stick your head into the gaping, hungry mouths of these "soon-to-be vegetarians."

Here's mine:
Word: Sparlock
Definition: The trash bin character from a new Jehovah's Witness DVD, whose only crime is being a plastic warrior wizard toy. Enduring the wrath of what some would call an anal, obsessive, controlling 'MILF', Sparlock manages to escape the dark recesses of the trash bin, if only in the hearts and minds of many ex-Jehovah's Witnesses.
See also, 'mentally diseased apostates', 'Watchtower screw ups', 'Sparlockus', 'cult action figure', 'makes Jehovah sad', and 'Satan's most powerful tool'.Example : Ex-JW: Hey, did you see the new Watchtower DVD? Sparlock rules!
Jehovah's Witness: Unless I confirm this at the District Assembly, I am under the assumption this is a Satanic, Foderati, Illuminati, Masonic, Satanic, World-Wide, Universal-Wide mentally diseased apostate conspiracy. Good day, sir. -

My demon experience
by SweetBabyCheezits inone recent afternoon, me and a buddy were taking a trek around a nearby neighborhood and made our way past a delapidated house that had all the familiar symptoms of being haunted.
he suggested we check it out so, of course, we did.
it looked like it had been abandoned probably 30-40 years earlier but the previous owners had left behind a small coffee table.

For the sake of argument, just because something seldom occurs, and therefore is difficult to nearly impossible to falsify, does not make it true. I agree, however, on holding off on labeling the event. The thing is, you have to be open to be proved wrong, on both sides.

Sociological Parallels Exhibited among Primitive Tribesmen: String Theorists?
by kepler inphysicist lee smolins 2006 book the trouble with physics is ostensibly about physics; in particular, the quagmire that string theory has turned into: a leviathan that has the majority of the worlds advanced theoretical physicists engaged in pursuit of a theory or system of theories that is yet to be validated by experiment.
it also encounters difficulties predicting much of anything, including the very basic features of the universe we live in.. .
i had heard of the book and had seen reviews before i picked it up at discount bookstore.

Kepler, no matter how much we 'advance', we will still always have the same basic needs. Self-validation is a powerful drug.
It's a good thing diversity ensures that society, as a whole, will never box itself in completely.

After seeing Sparlock movie
by Gorbatchov intoday i had some time to see the sparlock movie.. first at all i want to thank my jw parents for giving me a free youth within the jw belief.
i was gifted with a great fantasy.
i played daily characters like tank general (on my bike), secret service employee (behind the couch), the family wizard (with tricks) and soldier... my parents knew it, and loved it.. this dvd is not representative of all jw family's!.

It is my hopes that parents will continue to neglect these videos for what they are, crap. As long as there continue to be liberal JWs within the Org, the Society will always have a thorn to deal with.

Richard Dawkins is Agnostic?!
by cedars ini've just happened upon the following website article featuring an interview between richard dawkins and dr rowan williams, the archbishop of canterbury.
i was surprised to discover that, when asked directly "why don't you call yourself an agnostic?
" he answered that he did.. here is the article:.

Dawkins certainly repudiates the Christian God, no? He may, at best, lean towards a deistic position?
