  Sick of "prophecies"

  i'm going to ramble (rant) again!.

  i am so sick and tired of hearing about this prophecy in the bible, and that prophecy in the bible.

  i'm sick of hearing they were fulfilled by this person, that organization, some event.

  i feel the need to ramble.. as some of you may have detected, i at times have doubts and questions about the personality and qualities of god and the bible.

  however i am still clinging to a good amount of my faith in their goodness.

  this is why i am now, as some of you have in the past, studying deeply and looking for myself into what the bible says.

  a 99 wt had an article entitled "does god work in crooked ways", and one of the scriptures discussed in it was exodus 4:11.. nwt.

  at that jehovah said to him: "who appointed a mouth for man or who appoints the speechless or the deaf or the clear-sighted or the blind?

  Have any successully faded away?

  i would be interested in hearing from any of you that have successfully "faded away" from the wbts.

  i realize that there is no easy way to leave because of the way that the jw's will treat me.

  mainly, i am concerned with my family.

  lately i've been struggling with 1,000,000 different feelings, and this scripture has helped me tons, i hope that it does you also.. deut.

  22 when the prophet speaks in the name of jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that jehovah did not speak.

  with presumptuousness the prophet spoke it.

  Has anyone felt like leaving God altogether?

  after you decided that the wbts, and thus jw's were not god's chosen earthly organization did you feel like you wanted to leave and forget god altogether?.

  a couple friends of mine and i used to have some funny things relating to the wts that we would say.

  ironically they are d/f now, but anyway.

  if one of us were going to do something to embarass another, or do something stupid we would say "if you do that i'll go wbts on your ass!

  first off, i want to say that i am very grateful for this place where i can speak whatevers on my mind.

  ive often been amazed at the role that the wtbts & gb put themselves into, all the while claiming that they are not promoting their own standards, and understandings.

  heres just a little research ive done lately on what it means to be a sect.

  What about the scriptural obligation to preach?

  i've always been taught that each disciple of christ has a scriptural obligation to preach, and to do so in imitation of jesus and his disciples.

  they did this by house to house, in synagogues, and in the marketplaces.

  this is one thing that has always kept me close to jehovah's witnesses.
