My parents are going to meet with me!

it was two years and two months ago when i told my mother that i no longer recognize the wts religion as being "the truth.

" as you may know, to a jw mother, this is like telling her you've decided to jump off a skyscraper.

i have spoken to her only two times since then, and have not seen her or my dad since then.

Wow...this is sad and at the same time exciting that they will see you at all. They are pretty up there to be making any changes in their lives tho it has happened in my experience with people. I think if something was to happen to dad, mom would have no qualms about keeping in regular contact with you. Mothers typically grieve the loss of their children to the Watchtowers control over them. It would kill me not to see my children. :( Mom fears DADS reprisals more than Jehovahs in this...she didnt say she would have to ask the elders or consult the bound volumes...she said she would have to ask DAD to see if it was ok, and in my opinion that speaks volumes about the heaviness of heart with which the sheep follow the dictates of the society towards shunning their own.

Dont be eager to pass your book off to them yet honey. I dont think this is the "last" time mom will see you. And if it is not, then giving them that tome no matter how mildly and well written, may in fact SEAL them not ever seeing you again you know?

And that would kill your momma. :(

my relationship with my jw mother is deteriorating rapidly.

Welcome honey. First things first...your leaving the planet isnt going to prove anything. Your mother will probably just look at that act as one of guilt and that you were afraid for God to kill you at Armageddon so you beat Him to the punch. Seriously...you know thats the way they and WE thought about things. Its like they are looking through this distorted wacked glass at things all the time. So stick around and live your life WELL and that will be the best revenge against the Borg.

The Society divides families...no doubt about it. And we are all praying the day will come when they and their Pharasaic laws go phuque off and die...but until then, your sister might be making noise that she wants to go back but ask anybody who tried to do that and see how successful they were. Once that door closes behind them nothing is the same again. And nobody trusts them again...so they are categorized differently within the ranks as bad association. My guess is even if she got reinstated, she wouldnt stay long. She knows too much.

So just hang around and be supportive of her and the opportunities will arise for you to interject logic and thought once in awhile that make her think. Dont leave her to the wiles of your mother. Go on the cruise...its a BIG ship sweetie. :)

I wrote to the email addy on that article and told her that you cant be KIND or they will continue to return. To tell the JWs to add your address to the do not call list at their Hall and tell them that if they continue to come against your wishes that they will have the police called on them for trespassing.

Friend might be shunning me...

i don't know what to make of this.

my friend from the hall asked me for an invitation to my graduation.

i e-mailed her a note that she is most welcomed and doesn't need a ticket to get in.

Do you have a mutual friend who can try to contact her? There might be a reason for this but if she is ignoring you in particular maybe a third party can find out what the deal is.

My JW sister in law did that when my eldest nonJW son graduated last year. She wanted to go to the party. Even tho I am DAd she is usually civil to me in large groups and this was not MY party nor a HOLIDAY party so she said she would go. But then she disappeared and didnt go to the party. Turns out she was shunning her EXJW MOTHER who was going to the party and didnt have the balls to just say so and so she took her family and "escaped" three hours north to Orlando to avoid ANY contact with her mother and blew off my sons party for her "righteous" act. :(

Im glad I got rid of my minivan and now have a small car that I can see CLEARLY both when I get in or my teenagers get it...what if anything is behind the car! You might not have babies yourself but the NEIGHBORS do and you just never know if a baby is running after your kitty which IS under your car!

Im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry...god thats sad :(

Welcome, you will indeed find a place to vent here. There is nothing new under the sun in here where the JWs are concerned either..SOMEBODY has been or is in ...your position.

We can only all hope that the Society will implode some day and the shackles they have on all of our thoughts and families will be removed at last.
