Jesus never used the name Jehovah???
by Mrs Smith inmy hubby and i have been doing a lot of bible reading are we correct by saying that jesus never once used the name jehovah?
if the name is so important surely jesus would have used it?
the jw's say that jesus was the greatest teacher and that we should follow his example so why are they using a name that jesus did not once refer to.

My poor husband always ended up with the talk on that before the memorial somehow and we could never remember if it was like the CAR, NEEEEESAHN..or NISS...or what. LOL
And they would say unorganized instead of disorganized.

I always just thought well..Jesus was KING OF THE JEWS and they didnt SAY the holy name ever. What kind of Jew who was supposed to follow the Letter of the Law would break the law by enunciating the name of God? And as for it not appearing in the new testament...not all the writers of the bible were jewish so what prevented them from writing and using the name of God?

by JH ini liked saturdays because i never went out in the field service that day, and there was no meeting that day also.

in 1984 when I first started, I went to Wisconsin because my "bible study conductor" was attending the pioneer school in Janesville. My "assignment" was to take a stack of old green bibles and cut and paste all the scriptures cited in her Pioneer Book which she got somehow in advance of the school and had me do all the work on. I didnt know better. Carey Barber was speaking at that school. It was a small room, not a lot of people and we were probably 10 feet away and I had the worst case of bronchitis I ever had in my life and coughed through the ENTIRE talk! I didnt know this chump from Adam but I did notice that everybody treated him like he WAS God.
I wasnt impressed then and I continued not to be. I hope he is somewhere now going SHIT SHIT SHIT!!! I shoulda had a LIFE!!

Go read some of their articles about what "propaganda" is...it's hysterical. They define propaganda by defining THEMSELVES so implicitly and then saying it ISNT them that it sets your teeth on edge that they think 6 million people are THAT stupid.

soon - an end to suffering.
the articles are the typical "why does god permit suffering", followed by the issue of universal soverignty, the fall of adam and eve and a concluding "very soon now god's kingdom will bring an end to worldly governments.".

Well I know why they use this line of reasoning...because they know that being a JW IS SUFFERING and they have to justify it by saying that is what GAWD wants you to do Sistahhhhhhh GAAAAWD wants you to be depressed and feel imprisoned and hopeless and trapped....it's not us it's Gawwwwwwd...so get over it and get out there and recruit and quitcherbitchin. And your reward will be that someday you will be in "Paradise" with us and be in servitude to us there TOO.

Your relationship is built on lies and conditional love. If he cannot accept you for the person you are but must first MOLD you into a JW to assuage his guilt for getting involved with a wordly person, his demands on you will NOT stop when you get baptized a JW. That will only be the beginning. I dont know what you know about this religion honey but GET OUT while you can!

Bahamas here I come!!

yep...damn miracle we have made it this far, no doubt about it.
he surprised me with a trip to the bahamas for 4 days :) we live in s. fla so already had the clothes for it...only gave me 24 hour notice to get packed!.

i stood and watched as a group of jws got out of the ugliest square box of a four-door car in my neighborhood, split up into two pairs and proceeded to do what i have to assume were not at homes.
the two women were walking up the driveway of the home next door to me which hasnt had anyone living in it for five years and i watched just for kicks to see how long it took them to traverse the 100 feet or so to the front door.

This is a LIFE SAVING WORK these people are doing??? I stood and watched as a group of JWs got out of the ugliest square box of a four-door car in my neighborhood, split up into two pairs and proceeded to do what I have to assume were not at homes. The two women were walking up the driveway of the home next door to me which hasnt had anyone living in it for five years and I watched just for kicks to see how long it took them to traverse the 100 feet or so to the front door. A full 4 minutes!!! They stopped, looked at a mag, went two feet, stopped, talked, stopped again and looked at a call book, stopped again.... And the other two, men, were getting out of the vehicle, rummaging in a box in the trunk, talking, casually closing the doors, pointing and deciding which way to go first...it was for lack of a better term...PATHETIC!! If someone were in need of spiritual guidance they died before any of these people got to the door, thats for damn sure. The Witness Shuffle...next week on Dancing with the Stars!
