Your wedding day belongs to the elders
by fade_away ingetting married means you get your own special day.
a day where the couple getting married gets to call the shots and decide who is gonna be invited, who is gonna be the maid of honor, who is gonna be the best man, how you want everything to look and what music you want to play.....unless of course you're a j-dub.. i got married last year, and no matter how hard i tried, i couldn't decide anything on that day.
i have an amazing friend who has always been there for me and my family.

April WT: 6 prophesies you are seeing fulfilled - earthquakes...
by NVR2L8 innew light?
the article states that jesus never said there would be an increase in earthquakes, but that they would be "great" earthquakes in one place after the other...like we have seen lately.
this is quite a change with the wts' obsession of trying to prove that since 1914 there has been a significant increase in the number of occurances, comparing fictious numbers from the time of jc until 1914 and from 1914 until today!

Hi, new to this forum. Figured I'd let everyone know about my story before I got involved.
by JonathanH inif you just want the juicy details where i leave, i'll make disclaimer where it begins, if you just want to know what happened with the elders and organization after i realized it wasn't true, i'll mark that seperately.
we didn't do jack shit in service, or in the congregation.
maybe this was how jehovah came about?

Do You Consider yourself an Atheist / Agnostic / or Christian? Reasons ?
by flipper inafter having been raised in the jehovah's witnesses for 44 years ( getting out 6 years ago ) i have now come to peace with my view of what i personally feel about the existence of god , or no god, or whatever is flying around up there in outer space.
i am basically agnostic for sure / perhaps leaning atheist and i've come to that decision based on the years and years of unfulfilled false promises of being in a mind control cult ( jehovah's witnesses ) claiming to represent an alleged " god " or " jehovah " saying there would be a paradise, and armageddon to destroy 99% of the earths population.
also- i enjoy helping others without thought of being rewarded for it.

Persecution Wanes/Banning Blood Garners Publicity
by compound complex insheer madness --- perpetuated by two madmen who prevailed over the judge [almost].
"after the judge's death, as world war ii was ending and persecution against the witnesses began declining, along with the attendant drop in news-media publicity, hayden c. covington told the author [of the four presidents] that fred franz saw the prohibition against blood transfusions as a way to accomplish two things: to continue to publicize the religion, and to create an uproar in the community.
this reaction would convince the membership they were being "persecuted" and "suffering for righteousness sake," a sure sign they were "in the truth.".
