Welcome, Wing Commander!!!!!!!!!!!
mac
since i am new on this forum, just thought i'd share my story.
(though it seems typical on here) born into jw's.
parent's nutty jw friends told them to raise children like nazi's, and not allow them to do anything, or associate with anyone other than jw kids.
aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
fat people are suing mcdonalds because they ate fast food and, guess what?
they got fat!
following on the heels of what bowen said about ray, i began to see a statement that real soon began to get under my skin.
i've read it several times since and i hafta say: that little irritant is beginning to fester more than i care for.
the statement was something in the neighborhood of, "let's not get side-tracked with this franz / bowen fiasco and remember who our real enemy is... the watchtower society!".
i'm working on a lesson plan that i have to teach this week, and came across these thought provoking quotes from mark twain at hannibal.net ( a great site for anyone who is a twainophile).
"a man is accepted into a church for what he believes and he is turned out for what he knows.
"concentration of power in a political machine is bad: and an established church is only a political machine; it was invented for that; it is nursed, cradled, preserved for that; it is an enemy to human liberty, and does no good which it could do better in split-up scattered conditions.

i decided to start this thread, because so many time we go at each other because of difference of opinion.
( myself included ) but yet for me i love this place.
i love the different opionions, they make me think, i love the freedom of expression, the friendships, and the expriences that make this a special healing place.
