Being a Witness helped me to question things and look a bit deeper, rather than just accept things at face value, it also gave me a wonderful mum, who's still always got time, patience, humour love and a well stocked cupboard for when I pop in and are starving any time day or night! I love her.

what to believe now?
by christopherceo inthis is my first time posting here or on any ex-jw forum but i want to know if anybody else is not sure what to believe anymore.
paradise on earth sounds great and it was drilled into me for 11 years, it's just kinda hard to shake.
what about armageddon?

Hello Chris! ......... On the other hand what was "drilled into you" might just have been right. Keep an open mind, if like me you are on the outskirts. Steer clear of the angry ones, little reason is found there, avoid bitterness, keep your own mind, and always always question what others tell you here and elsewhere. Good luck in your search!

This bloke David Icke went from reading the sports features on BBC News to suddenly proclaiming himself as the Son of God amongst other things, fair enough, each to their own......but to me the worst thing he ever did was to wear purple and lilac coloured shell suits as he spouted his revelations......that must truly be an unforgiveable thing. I mean Shell Suits...........for goodness sake......(mumbling.......)

Ok, I haven't attended the meetings regularly in years, but when I think back to the times I did in my childhood and teens I can remember many happy times. Sure the meetings seemed to last for hours as a kid and the one time I did get narked was when our Ministry school meeting changed nights from a Friday to a Thursday night...."But mum, Wonderwoman is on Thursday night, can't we join the other congregation etc" I got over missing WW , and one thing I can remember, amongst many happy times, is of a giant of a man called Brian who had previously been a professional boxer, and became an elder. He used to take me out on the work. This man was huge at least 6ft 5 and built like a brick house, I remember householders faces when they opened the door to find him standing there, I'm sure they were either scared into submission into accepting the mags or slammed the door real fast! He really was a gentle giant with a wicked sense of humour who loved the truth and taught me so much, sadly he passed away from stomach cancer in 1986, to see someone reduced to a quarter of their physical size before his death was a horrible sight, but he is one person I'll never forget, for the times he made me laugh, and the wisdom he taught. I often think if there is a New system to come, he'll surely be there. Can any of you remember back to someone like this? Someone who helped shape the person you are now....

Lurkers
by Yizuman inseems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.
i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?
how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

Jonadab..... Keep speaking the words of Truth and don't worry about all the detractors. Thank-you for your posts, and don't get discouraged. This fence-sitter hears you, some others might too. Knowledge is like a river, when shallow it babbles, when deeper it quietens and flows Scott

by ExpandedMind indoes anyone who posts here have contact with greg stafford?
is it possible that this is just a "pen" name so that he remains anonymous?

Jesus Is God (John 1:1)
by JesusISJehovah inaccording to john 1:1, jesus is god.
how do jehovah's witnesses rationalize that blatant statement of jesus' deity?
-
ScoobySnax
Amazing "JesusisJehovah" that you are here asking that question in the first place, you seem to have all the answers already.I'm sure somewhere there is a "Trinity" link to re-assure you. But for me, I'm with IW on this one. The very simple fact was that Jesus acknowledged that the Father (Jehovah) was greater than him, why when dying did Jesus ask his father to forgive those that had done that to him? and how can Jesus sit at the "right hand side" of God? Can you sit at the right hand side of yourself? I've tried.....and you can't. honest. Keep your history lesson (respectfully of course).
