Isn't that kind of an oxymoron? How can you force someone to promote freedom of religion and speech without infringing on their right to the same freedoms? Plus the jdubs are very careful to only make "suggestions" in writing so this probalbly wouldn't affect them anyway. And a law like that would be just another law on the books that nobody could afford to enforce. I hear they are laying off tax autitors even though each auditor briings in farm more revenu than their anual salary. Who are we going to hire to enforce this law?

Occasional feelings of sadness about the JW experience
by Mr Facts indo you feel occassionally sad when you flash back at your life as a jw, may be you occassionally become overshadowed by regrets and bitter feelings and not knowing exactly what caused it.. some regretted wasted life while others regretted being trapped in what they feel was a cult.
do you experience anything similar.
how do you usually surmon up courage to stand up and forge ahead?.

Heres a comple things that make me sad.
1. Never learning to make real friends because the only criteria for having a friend was that they be a JW no matter how crappy of a person they were. Looking back a lot of them were pretty crappy. In addition to that I had to stop hanging around with the people I did like because they weren't JWs. Although I bet the emotional disconnect made it a lot easer to deal with my DFing. After leaving I have to say I almost never thought about anyone I spent time with as a JW.
2. Not having other avenues for learning life's lessons for the things you parents didn't know. The old saying it takes a village has some merit. Other kids get to play sports and other after school activities to learn these lessons. JWs are discouraged from going to a therapist or even talking to the school counselor.. (Not that you would ever be able to trust then anyway)

2012 August Public WT and the Obliteration of Logic
by Yan Bibiyan innew august public wt is online.. the first article addresses miracles and tries to refute common objections if miracles are possible.
i won't bore you with the details, please see for yourself the blatant disregard of science, documented events, etc...however, in conclusion the article states:.
pg.6: "...so, then, are there such things as miracles?.

The reason there were miracles in the past is because at some point in the future we developed time travel. This, along with the bad conditions in the world, led us to go back in time and use future technology to perform what looked like miracles to the people back then. Our goal was to make the future a better place to live by making people believe in and fear god. Along with this we planted the various religious books, the Bible the Koran etc... The unfortunate side effect was that once people started to worship god no one believed time travel was possible so it was never invented. And that is why we no longer see miracles in our time.

A message from youtube regarding negative votes on Sparlock videos
by Amelia Ashton ini don't seem to be making myself clear these days.
.
there has been so many "dislikes" on sparlock clips i received a message from youtube.. i asked for people to "like" the videos instead of "dislike" because this will also push the videos to the top of searches and hopefully get more views especially for jws searching from it .. i am now getting abuse.. please can people "like" the clips so the balance between like and dislike gets reversed.. ty x.

I don't think the title helps your cause. Without reading your comments there's no way to know this is supposed to be a commentary on the JWs and not a post by a JW trying to promote their religion.

A simple way to tell God probably doesn't exist
by poor places inwhen's the last time you prayed to god?
did he respond?
i prayed to him for years and years and received no response.

Hmm sounds like there might be more to that comment than meets the eye so keep in mind the question wasn't meant to start a flame war or anything. I really don't believe there is anything God could do to prove his existance to humans as we exist today.
If I end up in heaven or maybe hell (God forbid ) or even waking up in the "New System" then maybe I will have enough proof.
I really can't think of anything that God could do to "make" me believe. Kind of the ultimate catch 22...

You can use out-of-context scriptures and warped logic to prove anything
by ballistic ini have a theory that you can use out-of-context scriptures and warped logic to prove anything.. go on try me... lol tell me something unbelieveable and i'll try to come back with something..

OK, well I don't know if the flat earth society use scripture but here goes...
Don't forget the one when Jesus saw all the kingdoms of the earth from an unusually high mountain.
Although are these out of context? And if we didn't know the earth was a globe would the logic be warped?
I think the Flat Earth Society does a better job at using the bible to prove that the earth is flat than the JWs do at using it to show that the writers knew that the earth is a globe.

What do Jehovah's Witnesses do about compulsory voting in Australia?
by slimboyfat inwhat are they advised to do?
do they attend polling booths and somehow register "neutrality" or are they allowed to be absent altogether?
have politicians or the media ever addressed the issue?
-

I was always told if you were required to vote you would just write in your own candiate which would be Jehovah of course.
