I've felt exactly the same in chat sometimes.
I also have suffered the "boss" problem and have had to exit quickly, maybe appearing rude.

i am not, and never have been a jw.
my interest in them started 1 year ago when i started to 'study'.
going on to the internet, and searching ' jehovah's witnesses' led me to this board, (among others).

ISP, who knows, it could be your vote that counts!
simplesally, if you ever met Tony Blackburn, I'm sure that pretty soon you would succumb to his wiles and be included in his list of conquests.
He's an ugly wrinkly bastard, I have no idea how he does it!

Get well soon honey!
we heard new light this evening.
a local needs talk was given about how anyone that knows someone might be dating a non- witness and doesn't report it to the elders is actually hindering the free flow of jehovah's holy spirit.
yes, if the "sin" goes unreported, the whole congregation will be affected, just as in the case of achan and his family!
It's only a matter of time before they start dragging brothers and sisters out of the Kingdom Hall into the car park and pelting them with stones for misdemeanours like this. I know my dad would love to lead the throwing!
the 17-year-old jehovah's witness daughter of shunned father died thursday of leukemia.

Many thanks again Rado for your brilliant site.
The "Oh, she would have died anyway" trump card will be pulled out yet again I'm sure.
I feel so ashamed of how I used to vehemently justify the blood doctrine.
i was so tired tonight and could barely wait to snuggle up with my diego.
for some reason, probably the neverending headache, or the neverending thinking and analyzing process - i laid there wide awake while my two dogs snored.
how rude!
Thanks for sharing that Mimilly! They're darned cute little critters aren't they? We don't get them on this side of the pond, we just get foxes ravage our bins instead.
one of the best tools the elders have to counsel the congregation is the local needs part.
how does one usually get picked for this talk?
generally, during an elder's meeting, one elder will have his pet peeve.he convinces the body that this issue has to be handled by the body.
Mainly I've always thought that these talks were just thrown into the schedule because there aren't enough Kingdom Ministry articles to fill up four service meetings.
We had one of these "local needs" talks yesterday. We were given a pep-talk about withstanding persecution. We were reminded of the need for endurance, and again we were told how close we are to the end. Like wow. There was also a little bit about our meeting attendance and hours and stuff, y'know, the usual guilt inducers about "are we doing enough in Jehovah's service?"
I like to read behind the lines in these talks as well, because they don't say this stuff for nothing, the information is usually prepared as a result of an incident or incidents that the Elders have become aware of.
i just wondered how much those "words of wisdom" that we once believed came from jehovah, via the fds, and out of of the mouth of a public speaker, are still affecting us today?.
i don't mean the scriptural imprinting, or even the stuff that bored us silly in the sunday watchtower study.
no, i mean the special instruction, the special assembly talk, the special week of activity that went with the co's visit.
Oh, gawd, don't remind me of Fred Franz. I remember meeting him when I was about 8, backstage at Twickenham, while my dad was involved in some item, and he ruffled my hair and said what a fine upstanding young man I was, I guess because I'd been quiet. All the big-wigs in the Jehovahs Witness religion feel that they can ruffle children's hair with impunity. Albert Schroeder did it to me too.

Please be more specific.
BCE could be "Bell Canada Enterprises" or "Before our Common Era" or "Broadcasting Center Europe", what do you mean here?
