  Sad news from Maui

  we went to our favorite beach, met up with some of our local friends.

  we don't have much in the way of details - but heard some devasting news that ari (well known to seattle area exjw's and i am sure by many on the board) killed himself sometime over last weekend.

  he was so excited about moving to maui, and starting a new life here.

  This documentary was terrific for the right audience, which is someone who has been involved with Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs). It includes much footage from Ray Franz and the author of "The Gentile Times" (or something like that). It hit on almost all of the key problems with the group: discrepancies in doctrine, difficulties of the members and their children, life-or-death commands (especially for children!) and the dual standard for the Malawi and Mexican JWs, costing the Malawians their lives! I highly recommend this for people who have some contact with JWs (members, ex-members, Bible studies, or family members). Very well done.

  On the flipside, what about the reviews of various Watchtower Society Videos on IMDB.com? In this particular video there are four fawning reviews and not a word of desent!

  This is a great video in that it tells by example who the true Christian organization is. It shows that Witnesses are real people with every day problems like everyone else. The shots inside of the factory are amazing and really bring home the point of that it is only by voluntary contributions and Jehovah's help that the society is going strong. Other religions CHARGE for their services like the Catholics, Baptists, and especially the Red Cross. This video shows true Christianity in action!

  2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

  saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

  location is our home in weston super mare.

  as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.
