I think it depends on the brand. I'm drinking Rickshaw brand and all I have to do is jiggle for a strong brew - other brands require encouragement to colour the water the shade I like it.
I would like to correct Outcast. It's the *bitch* who makes the tea - not the bag. Get with the program!

7, 8, 9. i'm not even that sure on 5 and 6. is the reason most jws can't explain them because there have been so many changes that most dubs aren't up with the brightest light?

"You can't sit there" (bad language)
by Simon inthe "please be seated" post rememded me of our experiences at the last district assemblies we attended.. it was in the nynex / manchester evening news arena and it was hot ... damn hot.
they were obviously being 'cheap' and not paying for the air conditioning to be turned on.. liam was a baby and was becoming unwell because of the heat.
he was overheating badly which is pretty dangerous at that age so we stripped him off and took him out up the steps to the concourse.

Simon, I also said something very rude that I have always felt guilty about. When we stopped meetings, we had endless visits from 'the friends' and we also had a new baby (no. 2) that was related to the devil himself. I was exhausted from lack of sleep and the endless visits had begun to wear. Especially as no one offered to help me - they just came for cups of tea and to bore on about how they raised their kids. So when two elders showed up one saturday morning, I said; "have you come to make a nuisance of yourselves?" They didn't stay long - surprise, surprise. Fuck off might have done it as well, but one of the elders was a really nice guy and I hated myself afterwards for being so unkind to him.
I did tell someone to Fuck off once but I was taking a female hormone that makes women more aggressive. What's your excuse? hehehe!

Who Mediates?
by Englishman inas most jws no longer have jesus as their mediator, how do they conclude their prayers?.
......and so, dear father, we approach you now in the name of the 144,000. amen?.
i only recently became aware of this change where jesus is mediator to just a select few.

A hundred years ago when I was a good little dubbie, I had a little tantrum and told an elder friend of mine that I thought the 144 grabbed all the good stuff for themselves. I was rewarded with a stern talking to. I reckon that was about 1974. It seems the grab for cash (substitutes) has continued.

LETTERS TO BOE/DON"T WATCH DATELINE?
by ARoarer inhas anyone seen or heard of any letters going out from headquarters to the body of elders directing them to inform the congregations not to watch dateline?
i was wondering if this is really true or just a rumor.
if it is true, this is terrible that they can actually deny members freedom of press or punishment.

Alan, obviously d'fing the whistleblowers is insane, in light of what is happening globally at present. I can see the WT reasoning though - these so called whistleblowers, are just trouble makers and they do not rely on Jehovah to sort things out. So in some ways I can see their actions as predictable and consistent. But then I look at people like you and think - they have been too frightened of you to disfed you. Basically that's what it's come down to. They axe insignificants like David and me - but they are just a bit more weary of people like you. So they leave sleeping dogs lie. That being the case, why didn't they do it this time? I can hardly believe they could be that stupid. But I liked the explanation given by another insightful poster. If the people in the program are disfed, then the r & f can ignore what they say coz they be apostates. The Society has some recourse after the program. Apostate lies!!!!!!

JW Justifies Societies Pedophiles

the gist of it i got was that since there is so much more of it in other religions, it isn't all that bad within the jws.
what a pity they won't open their eyes;.

I haven't read the link yet, but I can imagine the rationale. I think the JWs have moved into this line of reasoning with regards their entire religion; We may have made mistakes, and we may have our faults, but we are better that the rest....... Choose a religion that is 70% right over a religion that is only 30% right - special bonus offer -we have 33% less pediphile activity!
Another thought that obviously others have mentioned is celibacy and it's contribution to pedophillia. Clearly testosterone and sexual frustration for celibate clergy is a problem. Although why they don't just go to brothels or prey on bored housewives or young women who want to try out a priest I'll never know. Does sexual frustration warp a man so badly? And if the number of cases is related to celibacy, then why are witness men doing it? I find the whole thing impossible to fathom.

When does the shunning start...I'm confused...
by TheApostleAK ini don't know what the hell is going on over here but since i da'd myself only half the jw's shun me......i was told by a jw over the phone (a lot of jws still phone me) that the elders have gone up to everyone in the cong to personally to say i'm da'd (as opposed to an announcement from the platform), yet when i walk into the hall for meetings people still greet me.
i think they do it just to piss the elders off...... also, as some of you know my literature/magazine order was cancelled by the elders, i got in contact with an old friend in another congregation (a ex-pioneer who got df'd yet i still visited him when he was df'd...reinstated a while back) and he now gets me the magazines even though i told him i'm da'd.
he said he could care if i was a jw or not.

AK, I think it all depends on where you are and what the local people are like. After I'd been disfed I came to live in HOng Kong and just afterwards my father had a massive heart attack back in Tassie. I called on Bethel in Hong Kong and asked to see the Branch O. He was charming and told me it was lovely my wanting to visit my father and that he couldn't see a problem with it.
Basically, all the shunning politics had passed him by. It hadn't hit China and he didn't understand any of it. He gave me his gut reaction - his blessing to go visit my dad.
Later I was called up the Branch O. again over wanting to visit my parents, so he asked me to put my thoughts down on paper. He sent it to Sydney and Sydney sent it to my idiot brother in law - who has delusions of granduer - and is a PO in Hobart. Eventually the Branch O. was told how to treat me and all his natural born kindness was withdrawn and he danced the Society's tune.
In your case, be patient. They will catch on eventually. Some of them will be taken aside and told to be shitty to you. And they will do as they are told. Anyway why did you DA yourself if you still wanna go to meetings. Do you like having pain inflicted on
