  I thought the vatican was a sovereign state. the pope was head of state and therefor italy could not impose any law within the vatican.

  he has his own army, police, etc and therefor he employs people as they are not volunteers. on PBS there was a good prog. that showed it costs 305 mill to keep the vatican and church running and income was 300 million. however they would not reveal what the vatican bank has in its coffers as it was off limits.

  either way no one should be exempt from tax when there are so many loopholes available to the rich and powerful

  More "Elders" Doubt They Are Appointed By The "Holy Spirit"!

  the study edition of the watchtower says the elders are appointed by jehovah's holy spirit.

  it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.

  i have racked my brain, wondering how many brothers and sisters actually believe this, fall hook and sinker.

  for me it was when i saw how they are incapable of judging properly and how everything is about ensuring they are not made to look bad

  my brother who is an elder in a european congregation told me this am that a judicial reinstatement was halted mid way when the brother there revealed he is now a lawyer (solicitor).

  it wasn't in his congregation but one close and the elders did not want to proceed until they spoke to the branch office.. he doesn't have many details but does anyone know why they would suddenly stop?.

  he did hear that the brother works with the justice department in the uk in an approved position (non political) and he does work for the court system.

  broken, that has happened and they halted the whole thing. in another case the brother informed them that video was taken of the elders, their cars and the victim going into the kingdom hall and they halted that one.

  I just wonder why they are so scared

  in my congregation i could name at least 10 brothers, and likely more, who just couldnt wait for armageddon to come.

  the way they spoke about it clearly showed that they were just so excited.

  you could just see their eyes light up at the prospect of the wicked being destroyed and removed from this earth.

  They could nullify that in a second. The fact they go door to door to them is evidence they do not look down on anyone and the fact they teach in their opinion of impending doom means they are free from the blood of all men. After all the big A is the work of Jehovah not man in their opinion.

  Yes some are happy the big A is coming and look forward to the life they always looked for and some go way over the top.

  Considering four of the elders were and are lecturers in the congo i was in, i really dont think that they could have said anything. When I studied at college not one word was said to me. Two of the elders taught accounting one internal design and one building.

  I studied psychology and then took a course in internal design. Majored in psychology nothing was ever said to me about it being wrong.

  Interesting however is a sister in another congo who was told she was wasting her time, she studied graphic design and computer design and was the model JW. Amazingly, she was told...."you could use those skills at bether or a branch office'.

  Wow it stunned me that they knowing you haven't been at the meetings in a while would even consider putting your name on a form. I thought, unless it has changed that in order to pioneer regular or aux you had to have consistent field service. How things have changed and how they must need the hours.

  Even for them to have your name on a form that night is ridiculous!

  There was one elder who served for many years but was eccentric and always looked unwashed and unkempt. i remember a new PO as they were called them coming in and ousting him. broke the mans heart as he was well loved for his ways and knew his stuff, he was made a MS but refused if i remember right.

  They should be keeping what they have since no one wants to be an elder anymore

  last tuesday my elderly uncle was taken to the hospital by ambulance in extreme pain.

  while he was in er a number of tests and bloodwork were ordered.at approx 3:30 wednesday morning my aunt called me in tears.

  the test had revealed three large growths.. .

  I had an MRI done and they told me I had three small lumps at my groin area!

  I told them they were silly it was my genitals!
