  Long time Lurker, ready to join in...

  hi all, i'm a long time lurker, ready to join in and add my two cents worth now and then!

  i was in the religion for 25 years, out now for 8, along with my husband, daughter, and son!

  i would have to say pretty much the whole time i was in i didnt want to be, pretty much "dreaded" all aspects of it, meetings, service, assemblies, and talks, i hated talks, man o man would i be grouchy the whole week i had a scheduled talk.. we didnt have much family in, but lots of friends and many jw employees, pretty much lost all that, down to just one jw employee left(thats a good thing).

  Thank you for this post. I've never heard Bill Bowen in an interview and am looking forward to this.

  As to the link,

  - When I click on the details link in the OP it takes me to a WorldPress.com page advertising the interview.

  - There I find a link to the live broadcast, http://www.cyiworldwide.com/chat.html#.UDO166llQtR. This link gets me a "404 - Page Not Found" msg.

  I'm thinking the link will work when it's time for the broadcast to go live. Is that right?

  discussing the recent boe letter regarding child molestation this morning with my wife (she actually brought it up) , and she commented on how absurd it was - it just did not make sense!

  but there was one way that it could make sense.

  she said "what if someone at the top on the governing body was a child molester and wanted to cover everything up?

  It might be a good time to bring up an admission the Watchtower made in the 80s,

  “Shocking as it is, even some who have been prominent in Jehovah’s organization have succumbed to immoral practices, including homosexuality, wife swapping, and child molesting.” (W 1-1-86 p13) (bold added)

  What struck me is that not only was he the FDS, he was also the 'man with the writer's inkhorn' of Ezekiel. How do we know? Because God worked through a sign painter to deliver the message!

  Don't you love the circular reasoning involved in this?

  The Faithful and Discreet Slave is made up of a small group of anointed men at Brooklyn Headquarters who serve spiritual food during Christ's presence. How do we know? Because the Governing Body says so.

  Basically the GB has declared itself to be the FDS!
