i was stunned to say the least.
Honestly this could be pressure from her soon-to-be husband. His extreme guilt over his gay feelings mixed with his envy that he has toward you might make him really hate you. He is gettin a hetero marriage that he never wanted while you are with the partner that he secretly wishes he could have. The most vocal and nasty anti-gay people I have met seem to be closted gays.
In the end forgive him for his inability to accept himself and forgive your sister for being too weak to stand up for you.
I think if it was found out that Bethal was shooting gay porn and all of the GB were actors then maybe 20% would leave. The rest would just say...where else can we go.

i have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

My guess would be that many people have moved out of Mexico due to the ongoing termoil in the North. I know that my worldly grandparents are not going to the Baja, where they own homes, due to the violence.

Perry it is ok that it took God to change you. Some of us can find our own way, and others need a sky daddy to waggle his finger at them. If threats of eternal punishments are what you needed that ok. Just remember that some people grow up and dont need a father figure to guide them.

researching online, i found that approximately 1% of the world's population is 90 years of age or older.
this means that, come 2015, there will still be around 70 million people who fit the bill of "now living" in 1925 and still living.
Granted at the time JWFACTs there were not millions of witnesses...Maybe Jah will convert them all in just a few days and bam....millions now living willl never die. You dont believe that? Me either.

Quendi, I would like to make two points
1. Most of the people you talk about come from time periods where a complete disbelief in God was much more difficult. With some of the advances in genetics and general biological understanding it is less of a leap than it would have been for Newton and even Einstein.
2.This article specifically talks about religious people, not people who bleieved in God. Newton for instance held veiws that went completely against the religions of his time (i.e. the trinity). I know that Einstein believed in God but I dont think he was a devout Jew.
Edit: The one belief where I really think religious people are less intelligent is a belief in a global flood. That has to be one of the easiest storys in the bible to completely deconstrut. If you can research that point and show me how civilization went from nothing to its current form in 4700 years I would be impressed. Let alone all of the issues with animals and an ark...

What if they found out they lied to get reinstated....That is a case where it would make sense.
