  My reasons for living: my two daughters; my pets; my mom; learning, changing; making a difference that I hope lasts with the ripple effect. Also - being there for others who felt as I did growing up. I also look forward to being a grandmother.

  MORE BAD NEWS FOR ME......

  well i went to the cancer clinic yesterday, where i was told not only do i have endometrial cancer, i also have a rare form of it called clear cell cancer.

  apparently, it's a very aggressive cancer and has a tendancy to spread towards the lymph nodes.. i was absolutely stunned when then told me this one..........yep, i don't smoke, do drugs, i'm not a drunk and i don't screw around and yet i get cancer.. i really would like to try the gerson therapy clinic in california, but it's $4,900.00 us per week........so with the conversion from canadian dollars, it would be about $8,000/week and i'd need to be there for at least 3 weeks.

  anyone have about $25,000 i can borrow?

  I find it an anxious time, just remembering what happened last year let alone what those idiots may try to pull off. It would only take one car bomb to put people into sheer panic again.

  it's put to the music from james taylor's "fire & rain".

  we recreated it here as an educational project for my son - thought i'd share it with you also.

  Near death experiences,what do they mean?

  near death experiences,what do they mean?

  anyway there was a resent disscusion of this phenonema on the telly.now i'm not concerning myself here with is there life after death but with this point, when people have near death experiences they are measured to be brain dead, no activity can be measured in the brain, yet many report seeing what was happening to them or voices and visions.if this is true then consciousness is continuing while the brain is inactive.this is not sleep , where the brain is active , but the brain is to all intents and purposes dead.

  if, and i say if this is true, then consciousness is not solely linked to brain activity.that would have major implecations as to the nature of consciousness.where exactly doeas our consciousness reside?is the brain just a means for it to recieve information and in fact consciousness does not exist there but works throught it instead.this does not have to mean we have an imortal soul etc, but for example,maybe hidden dimentions in space could be the source of our consciousness,or someting else, not just the world we are aware of.

  People may flip on me for this but I don't care. I'm entitled to my opinion.

  I find it impossible to believe that this is all there is. I think there are different dimensions and perhaps even reincarnation. It's unfortunate that past-life counsellors make a mockery of it. Who knows what is beyond the black holes? THere is just too much that we do not understand, and just because it isn't understandable doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's interesting to contemplate on rather than to shut one's mind on the subject.

  I often wonder if what you serve is what you get - as in Christians get their heaven/hell; Muslims get their numerous virgins etc. (just a thot)

  Seeking advice on official DA

  for a very long time, i have held off on making my departure from the jw's official (though, i am as far removed from them as i can be) because of my mother.

  i did not want her to feel she must shun me when there would be no one to replace my presence in her life.

  this was for practical reasons as well as well as emotional.

  Bridgette - Since she knows your feelings about the borg - why not pose a hypothetical question to her and ask her what she would do if you ever decided to do Da yourself?

  That way, you will at least know what you are or are not up against.
