Talk about,"rubbing salt in the wound", how about living safe & secure in countries where young people risk their lives every day protecting the Dubs door to door work, so they can enjoy the freedom to tell 99.99% of mankind will die a horrific death! How sick iz that?

My Christmas letter to the Governing Body
by Mindchild insubj: mindchilds christmas letter to the gb.
dear members of the governing booty and all the rest of you anointed guys:.
listen you fat little trolls, i've been helping you out every year, by helping to clean up the messes you have been making in peoples lives, to encourage people to get over the great pain they have when they realized how badly you screwed them over and now i have to put up with lots of angry ex-dubs at my favorite online watering hole who havent learned to release their pain yet, and they are just making for one too many unhappy flame wars...i hate to break it to you gb boys, but it's definitely payback time!

Mindchild, I wish you wouldn't send out that Christmas card for these reasons:
#1) The G.B. iz probably taking a collective nap & won't read it anyway.
#2) If they do read it, it may bring them GREAT JOY to be reminded of the power they yield, they could care less about the pain they inflict or the fools they create.#3) The sexual content of your card may excite them.

Divorce? Help please.
by Mulan inwe have a close relative who has left her jw husband.
he is extremely controlling, and emotionally abusive.
their children are grown.

Mulan, I think good research iz the best thing you can advise her to do. She needs to get a firm grip on the ,"Truth about the truth."
I'm not suggesting anything too agressive, but lets face it,we are talking BRAINWASHING. I think we get deprogramed at different speeds, but once she settles down & starts clearing her head, she will make better decisions. Its good she haz someone like you who cares to help her through it! -

Maturity, Cults, and JWs
by Amazing inhow cults trap us: the criteria to define cults is fairly well established.
i think "lifton" did the best job.
however, there is one feature that none of the cult expose' literature seems to deal with - maturity.

All religions do this to some degree, like the Catholic that sez, "bless me father for I have sinned", or the muslim that asks the mullah, "who should I blow up tommorro?"

JW Revelation interpretation is nuts.
by refiners fire inthe witness interpretation of the book of revelation is the most ridiculous i have ever seen in a major religion.. sometimes i read revelation again, looking for it to come clear to my eyes, and i was reading it last night.
the dubs are lost.. example.
so much for the dubs on the 1918 ressurection.. verse 5:.

Did Crisis of Conscience damage you?
by Mulan init has been suggested, by a man we know, that those who read crisis of conscience, are left with a feeling of despair and are "cast adrift" after reading it.
it is his opinion that the book shouldn't have been written, because it does harm to people.
i do not agree, and would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion to share, so i can print all this out and show it to him.. comments, everyone, please????

Billy said it well! Who wants to be a "little sheep" & have information pre-screened & pre-digested while the proverbial WOOL iz pulled over their eyes? Not here!

Bethelites - How Many Quietly View This Site?
by Celtic ini do wonder if we make them smile sometimes?
do they have a quiet titter at our questions and musings?
are one or two of them even jealous of being able to voice our questions out loud?
-
moman
Celtic, even sheep, not the smartest in the animal kingdom, will break for FREEDOM if given a chance!
The thing about "brainwashing".......well, I guess you don't know your a captive & thats the beauty-of-it!

Apt Illustration???
by Kismet ini used to love using illustrations in my talks (student, public whatever) even now i still use illustrations to help student's i teach in some of the courses i run.. i was thinking about something that happened to me while working for a private wealth company owned by a major canadian bank.... .
one day while the ceo was away from the office i caught a mistake going through the system involving a transaction for one of the clients and a subsequent presentation to said client regarding the changeover being undertaken.
the mistake, while approved and already initiated by those responsible, could have cost the company several tens of thousands in penalties and if finalized would have called into question this client (worth over $45 million) staying with the company.. tho not really my job, i initiated corrective measures, spent the night re-doing much of the work involved.
