  i was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.

  ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.

  sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.

  I was born once... not that I remember the experience, really.

  Later in life, I was touched by the Grace of Reason and Logic, and realized that the bible was a collection of silly hogwash after all.

  However I have met some aliens from Planet Loonybin, where they claimed to be "born again" in Christ.
  You can recognize them because they have glazed WIDE eyes (like they are on LSD) — shaking with fervor while praising their 'lord' frantically…
  Usually, when you offer them logic, they turn hyper-condescending, and shed a few tears, as they believe you will die a damned soul.
  Crazy stuff, eh? I know…

  They are a rather entertaining bunch...

  Is the WTS backing away from "Bible Tall Tales" ?

  when i was a kid, it seemed like not a meeting went by when you didn't hear about jonah or sampson and other tall tales from the bible.. now though, they seem to have been sidelined.

  i guess the rest of the world caught on to the fact that these stories couldn't possibly be true and were so far fetched (yeah, even by bible standards) that they are just treated as 'stories' like aesop's fables.

  saying that you believe in them as genuine accounts just makes you look like a crazy zealot.. but the wts is different.

  The OP is simply logical. When I was a 12 year old — I just knew these were silly impossible stories that made no sense.
  Every story had a different paradigm, like Simon points out.
  
  The sheer irony of my parents laughing at the idea of humans descending from apes was mind-blowing to me.
  Because, of course, all of humanity suffering from a first naked couple who ate a fruit because they listened to a talking snake was SOOO much more believable!

  Evolution of the Eye

  after doing some research on the evolution of the eye, i compiled this simple explanation of the key points.

  anyone with greater knowledge please correct anything mistaken - and questions / comments welcome.

  any writers that want to correct grammar/sentence structure issues would be great also.. .. .. .. an eye, simply put, is photoreceptors + structure.. the structure can be something as simple as a cup-shaped depression or pinhole lens, or as elaborate as our camera eye, an insects compound eye, or the mirror eyes of a scallop.
