Reality would be:
All of our teachings are based on the Bible, AND the writings from a commitee of religious leaders in the United States.
Now THAT's the truth! ;) -

I thought the page on the Official JW site "Are You an American Sect?" is quite disturbing. The Borg REALLY has no problem lying thru their teeth!"
Here's what it says:Our world headquarters is located in the United States of America. However, we are not an American sect for the following reasons:
Some define a sect as a group that has broken away from an established religion. Jehovah’s Witnesses have not broken away from some other religious group. Instead, we feel that we have reestablished the form of Christianity that was practiced in the first century.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are active in their ministry in over 230 lands and countries. No matter where we live, we give our primary allegiance to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, not to the U.S. government or to any other human government.—John 15:19;17:15, 16.
All of our teachings are based on the Bible, not on the writings of some religious leader in the United States.—1 Thessalonians 2:13.
We follow Jesus Christ, not any human leader.—Matthew 23:8-10.
I put in bold the incredible dishonesty of the Watchtower: They avoid using the words Human leaders, and instead, play on words and use the words Religious/Human Leader, as if there was only one leader.
Demonically clever!

My husband MISSED the meeting today! Unheard of!
by Julia Orwell inhe decided to take me somewhere nice in the country for a day instead, and when he suggested it last night i was amazed that he would have even thought of missing the meeting!
he was one of those guys who only missed a meeting, literally, if he had a spinal injury and couldn't move!.
but, i've been sharing a little of the ttatt with him, teensy tiny bits that i can substantiate from the bible or other reputable sources.

I'm going to that assemby, and I will obviously stand out as not a JW. If asked, I will say that I'm an apostate according to the WTS, and that I came to take notes for my blog. And if asked my name, I will say it's none of their business. It's a public talk, period.
