could be talking a load of bollocks here, as an unbeliever and not well versed in the bible is new and old light mentioned.
from what i recall the only reference to light is an (existing light getting brighter).
does the wt use the term new and old light in there teachings.
There is no scripture about the blinking light because of JW flip-flops which occur frequently.

i made my first post (which i have attached) more than 2.5 years ago.. sad to say i am still in the same situation.
still "physically in" but have mentally been gone for years.
i am still in my marriage and unfortunatly things have not gotten any better as far as me being able to help him see the light as far as the organization.. i am at a serious crossroad though because i am almost 30 years old, with no children.
I was in a very similar situation over 30 years ago. According to Gail Sheehy in her book "Passages," people reach a crisis point between the ages of 28 and 32. That's when changes start to happen.
I was in a dreadful emotional state, and there was no one to talk to. I had to leave for my mental health. I did have a child, and it was really hard on her. She now understands why I had to do what I did, which in most of the world is just what happens when people are incompatible. With a cult, what is normal is considered shocking and sinful, and they want to identify "the villain." I was willing to accept their perception of me as "the villain" to save my life and sanity. It was worth it.
Your first duty is to yourself, your health and well-being. Whatever you do, I wish you the best.

Oops! They said "affect" when the correct word is "effect." Maybe they should encourage more education for the people who compose their correspondence!

Hi, Terry.
You should qualify for low-cost senior housing. A lot of my friends live in senior apartment communities here in Nevada. The ones I have seen are kept up nicely and have a community room for parties and potlucks as well as a workout room.
As for the hospital bills, even if you don't file bankruptcy, there should be a way to get the amount reduced. I worked for a personal injury attorney, and it was astounding how much medical providers would reduce the bills of patients who did not get large settlement amounts. I also saw how much write-off there is for certain insurance plans. I don't know who you need to negotiate with, but start with the head of the business office at the hospital.
Like you, I had a mom who left me bruised from stem to stern from beatings with a leather belt. She would tell me things like, "I'll knock you winding!" or "I'll cut the blood out of you!" I think the way I carry myself as a result of this injustice makes people see me as an easy target. Like you, I will almost die before asking for help. But I'm loosening up. You should, too. What you're going through happens to 'way too many people.
Keep your chin up, and accept the help that is being offered.
BTW (because you brought up the subject on another thread), one pedals a bicycle. Peddling is selling.

my inspiration comes from the ingredients i have at hand, very often leftovers, and also home grown produce, herbs and spices.
i still have a lot to learn, but i have come a long way since i first started cooking for mr cedars.. i think the first recipe on this thread should by the one that oodad has posted on other thread.... .
shrimp scampi.
I posted my oatmeal macaroons recipe yesterday, and it is still the last post on this thread. Good, because I have something to add.
Raisins (I prefer golden raisins) and/or coconut or pecans may be added after the eggs and almond extract. I like nuts and raisins, but some people prefer the "plain" version of the cookies.

my wife got me started watching this show last year.
we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.
the story line, scenery, costumes, old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.
Some of my Facebook friends went online and took a "Which-Character-Are-You on Downton Abbey" quiz. I took it as well. I am Mr. Bates, who is the character I most closely identify with.

if you could get all willing participants on this board together in one area for a party, and told them to bring favorite music, food, movies, and dressed in certain fashion, all of which has been discouraged or outright banned either by the wts or by their flunkies (do, co, elders, busybodies in the hall, etc.
), what would you bring?.
i would bring:.
Gifts in pretty wrapping paper
Everything in excess - food, drink, and fun
Worldly friends

From experience, I believe the best recipes have 5 ingredients or fewer. The one recipe that I make that gets raves from almost everybody is called "oatmeal macaroons." Here we go.
Mix together in a large bowl the following 3 ingredients:
4 cups oatmeal
1 cup vegetable oil, and
1.5 cups brown sugar (dark or light)
Let the mixture "rest" for about 8 hours or overnight in a covered bowl.
Then add:
1 or 2 eggs (to hold everything together). Try one egg first, then add more if needed until the consistency is right. There should be no egg that is not covering ingredients (i.e., no oozing or "independent" egg)
1 teaspoon almond extract (the good flavor comes from this)
Beating the almond extract into the egg is a good idea to ensure good distribution.
Here's the hard part. Because there is no flour in this recipe, the cookie "dough" cannot be dropped onto a cookie sheet or rolled out and cut into shapes. I use latex or vinyl gloves. Take a small amount of the mixture and squeeze it with both hands. The resultant raw cookie should be round, not flat. Place on a cookie sheet. Keep doing this until you have filled a cookie sheet.
Bake @ 375° F for about 10-12 minutes, or until lightly browned on top.
Enjoy!
