I fixed that, got out of the influence of the BULK of them. I voted with my feet.

I fixed those, too. Dubs sure didnt help.

Me too. Then there was(is) that pesky relative that "dogged me" for 25 years after I left. I finally stopped that demon. I let him know that my Doctor had ordered me to avoid him for medical reasons. And I let him know that he could have gone to prison for his STALKING.
But for the 50+ years of torture, I will blame the WTS. As far as their doctrine goes, I'll put what I did for WTS AND the torture they inflicted as credit on a TALLY SHEET. I'm convinced that GRACE is good enough and that WORKS are for bonus points. The total of the GRACE, the WORKS and the torture in Gods name is a BILL TO BE PRESENTED TO GOD.

I'm a bit upset right now.
by Sadie5 inone of our venders for our business closed down a few weeks ago, and we found a new company to get some of our supplies from.
while i was making the order, the woman asked me if i wanted our competitor who happened to be there bring it to our place since he was coming our way.
i knew my husband wouldn't want that so i told her no, after she asked me 3 times.. my husband picked up the supplies later on in the day.

I think Xandria's line of reasoning is the one to follow.
If you had "reversed" the INTERROGATION, with the question "What does religion affiliation have to do with ( fill in the blank ?)", you might have gotten some more information on this.
Very frequently, we answer questions that are posed to us. We do this WITHOUT THINKING, because of training to "be polite". Some people use this to pry and get information that they may not normally obtain.
You have to ask "why do they want this information"?
These people effect a measure of control over you by doing this. BTW, this is a JW habit/trait. It's curious about enduring the experiences we had as JW's: some become cowed into meekness, others learn to become bullies. I try not to be a bully, but not to let meekness lead to my detriment.
And "reversing" the conversation by returning it with a question of your own is not prohibited. You are after all THE CUSTOMER. If they are not a Law Enforcement type, I nip interrogations in the bud, these days. I believe that you should have because it has unsettled you.
I am reminded of the time I was renting a lawnmower. The counter man treated me like a suspect and that he was a cop. I didn't like it and told him so, asking for the manager. He replied that he was the manager. I retorted that he wasn't the manager of the rental shop down the street and left.
What puzzle's me is that they were insisting on the other party making the delivery. There is something peculiar about this...

Witness Passive Resistance?
by metatron ini wonder what happens to the watchtower if a quiet pattern of passive resistance develops.. the average witness might not even be aware of it - they skip more meetings, take up.
college courses, pad more hours, and (the big one!
) fail to contribute!.

Let's not forget this. It is a way to go. It is very similar to the way that I "drifted away" 30 years ago. I added moving around the country, getting heavily involved in work and other distractions.
Slow and Gradual, that was the ticket. Distractions and Excuses are the dressing on the plan.
As for THE BIG ONE, I was poor and learned to quit contributing when I was 'fortunate" enough to make 25$ a month while pIONEERING. I decided after a while that Jesus would have to be at the door "glad handing" every Sunday before I would contribute :)
(If you absolutely must contribute 1$ is plenty.)
Oh, & while you are slowing down, 1 hour of Field Service is also plenty.

More "march" news - a new lawsuit!!
by hawkaw ini guess maybe i am not really tuned into well but i completely forget that kim (aka "concerned lawyer") announced a major lawsuit in oregon involving the wts and a number of elders at this march..
wow!!!!!.

There is a book by-a-laywer, for-a-lawyer on dealing with that Child Custody handbook.
One big thing in that regard is that (when coupled with Theocratic Strategy disclosures), it looks like JW's CANNOT be Credible Witnesses (in the sworn-in, judicial sense). [Puns disabled]
