So... I got the 607 defense articles sent to me...
by i_drank_the_wine in...by a family member who recalled that this is one of my major apostate beefs.
the articles themselves are disgusting pieces of mis-information and require some serious mental gymnastics to actually believe.
however, they're so damn long-winded and waste so much time on pointless stuff like the 2 pages on the jw's beliefs about the 70 year period, that i am debating on whether or not to write the loyal j-dub family member back on it or not.. it shows just how brainwashed that family member is in that they know that 607 is a problem date, yet happily forward the articles as soem sort of proof while never once reading anything on the topic with an iota of thinking.. after years of having everything i've said on these topics ignored by everyone in my family that i've tried contacting over and over again, i really feel like taking the time to pick through their trash is going to be a big waste.

What Happens When We Die?
by LoneWolf in[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:officedocumentsettings> <o:relyonvml /> <o:allowpng /> </o:officedocumentsettings> </xml><!
a factor not taught.
it was back in the garden of eden that jehovah first spoke of the purpose he had for the earth, and that has never changed.. (see isaiah 55:11 again.

What happens when we die? Nothing. We just cease being a sentient meatbag and the universe carries on like it always has. Trying to prove otherwise has been scientifically impossible thus far, perhaps for a reason...

That being said, it doesn't sit well with me to have any JW mail me something as a "gotcha" without getting an honest response on the matter.
If I do write back, anyone have a good, easy to read/understand debunking of this trash?

The Reach Out WT Article, I don't know whether to scream or to laugh
by Quarterback ini held off long enough in reading the wt article for the study in january.
there is was, two articles about reaching out for the office of elder.. after finishing the article my reaction to it was anger.
they made it seem that there is something wrong with you if you don't reach out in this way.. our congregation has more deleted elders than active elders.

The dudes that are the young MS's and elders right now are all the guys that were dumb enough to get in trouble growing up and then dumb enough after growing up to stay inside the organization. If I was ever to get a lobotomy and somehow go back to that braindead state I would have so much dirt on all of them. Premarital sex, cheating on the wife, vandalism, drug use, and more! Yes, the new-age MS, elders, and anointed here on Long Island are the cream of the crop baby!

Sounds like a sign of the conclusion of the system of things! Arent the scriptures so accurate and arent we so lucky to be guided by Jehobah's holy spirit!

Playing the old tapes
by rebel8 ini was just watching a movie and it had a prison scene with a rat.
my automatic thought was, "oh, i hope there aren't rats when i'm in prison.".

Being a little kid and having to leave the classroom for every holiday activity, not allowed to have normal non-JW friends, being an outcast among your peers... yeah being raised as a JW you totally have the persection/victim mindset burned into your brainwashed head growing up. Crazy!

Do You Miss Even A Little Bit Your "Friends" From The "Truth"?
by minimus ini miss a few but honestly i could count them on one hand after being in the organization for almost 5 decades.
some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

No, I don't, because in hingsight they were terrible fuckin losers that I would never associate with unless there was no one else - which WAS the situation I had when I was still believin' what mammy and pappy burned into my brain like a chump!
In fact, after realizing that my efforts in trying to present facts and truth about "the Truth" and having them ignored, combined with getting kicked to the curb and shunned when I needed friends most... I initially went out of my way to send my old friends everything bad I can get from soup to nuts on the JW's, knowing that it's going to make them stick to it even more. Too dumb to see the truth in front of you? and you want to kick me when I'm down? Ok fine - I will play your game, and thereby be a crazy apostate in order to enforce your faith so that you waste your life lol.

I would have lost my virginity a decade sooner.
I would have learned to make regular friends and would probably have friends now.
I would have family in my life rather than having every single one of them shunning me.
I would have gotten my first divorce for a reason better than an ancient invisible Hebrew imaginary deity named YHWH.
I would have played sports in school like mad, maybe even earned a partial scholarship from that or the grades I had.
I would have earned any kind of college degree at all rather than just being a shitty HS grad.
I would have set up a 401k or some type of retirement plan when I entered the adult work force.
