Even if the evidence supports "intelligent design", who says the design was by God. We use these bodies to experience separation from God, to do "our own thing". Why would God need to design bodies for us so that we could pretend to be our own Gods? If God designed them, why ain't they perfect? Why do they have a "limited warranty" (about 75 years under favorable operating conditions) and why are they subject to disease?

Astounding proof of the existence of God!
by AlmostAtheist inperry marshall has done what no one else could do -- he has proven that god exists!
he points out that dna is a language -- a message -- and messages always originate with a mind!
of course, it's so simple.

Well Done! Your letter reminded me of a story in a wonderful book called "One Minute Wisdom" which Megadude was kind enough to loan me. It goes like this:
After confering with a Bishop, the Master remarked to his students that religious people have a naturally cruel streak. When the students asked why, the Master replied:
"They are far too willing to sacrifice people in order to serve a purpose".
Does that ever describe the GB?

There is a section in The Master's Notebook which is contained within Richard Bach's book, Illusions, which says it all:"The bond which links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof."

Tigerman is correct. I have considerable experience in City government and can assure you that it is NOT the responsibility of the federal government to have a workable evacuation plan. It is the responsibility of the City government. The City's evacuation plan which assumes that everyone has their own transportation was totally unrealistic and they knew it.. Besides, the Mayor waited until it was too late to issue the mandatory evacuation order. The Mayor is pointing his finger at Bush to cover his own screw-up.

I have been on medication for about 4 years now. I can't control it with diet and exercise so had no choice. Even on medication I am 140/80. With a family history of heart disease, you can't afford to ignore it. Lose weight, cut out the salt, and exercise. I'm sure there are some natural herbs that will help clear your arteries. My father died of heart disease and they refused to do surgery because of his clogged arteries. They were afraid the anethesia would do him in.

Free-will V.S predestiny
by Sargon init's been a long-long time since i shared any deep thoughts on religion... so please bear with me.
i was fishing this morning...since they weren't biting it gave me time to ponder;.
one of the concepts that caused me to leave the x-tian faith is the conundrum that boggles my mind when i consider free-will.. i've made the argument in the past that adam didn't have any free-will in the garden of eden.

Actually, what I Quit is proposing regarding time is a fairly common view among many scientists. I've read several descriptions that use the "coiled rope" analogy. Although to our human minds it "plays out" in lineal fashion, from outside one can see the whole coil. Just because everything that happens has already happened doesn't mean we didn't have "free will" at the time. I used to fly low level missions in C-130 aircraft over the mountains in West Virginia. From my perspective of several thousand feet, I could see that cars were going to pass each other long before they were aware of each other on those narrow winding mountain roads. From the perspective of those drivers, I was "outside of time" in a very limited way. Discussions on "free will" are often colored by the ridiculous notion that those who refuse to accept God's headship will be destroyed. We can delay(from our human point of view) but not defeat the will of God for us to be in heaven with HIM. No one is going to be lost. We are all created in the image and likeness of God and God cannot lose part of HIMSELF.

Daniel 4......
by Stromboli inlet's assume that the 70 year prophecy will be confirmed by all archeologists and geremia 29:10 is correctly rendered "at babilonia" so 607-537 is fine.
when we get to daniel 4 we have the dream and the tree is compared to the king nebuchadnezzar.
the wt confirms this and all is fine.

Don't you know the old saying: "He who writes the minutes gets to say what happened at the meeting". Most reputable scholars agree that the Book of Daniel likely wasn't written until 169 B.C., during a period when the Jews were under great stress. The general theme of the book is "hang on- God is in charge" and things will get batter.

What's the most thought-provoking novel you've ever read?
by lucky ini'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.
even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

Insane real estate market
by target init is unbelievable here in phoenix arizona.
it is absolutely insane.. we listed our house at a little more than $100,000 above what we paid for it 4 years ago when we built it.
20 minutes after it went online with mls we had a full price offer site unseen.

Consumer Reports recently rated the Real Estate Market in Orange County, CA as the most over-priced in the nation.
One of the reasons for the dense forested areas in the Woodlands is that they have left room for the "slush pits". That's right! When you buy your land, you don't get the mineral rights. They can come in any time and drill for oil on your property. In Texas terms, the Woodlands is high dollar real estate.

When the elders realized that I was not going to become a JW they started preparing my wife for a divorce which they were sure would come. This was back in the early 1960s. We've come close a coupe of times but are still together. She is a full time Pioneer and one of the "annointed". I am active in a local Unity Church where I teach a class in Metaphysics. Needless to say, we don't discuss relion very much. All of my 6 kids have bailed out except one who is married to a second generation JW. Two have divorced their JW spouses. The elders get nervous when a JW is married to a "non-believing spouse".
