Did you REALLY think about the 'Great Tribulation'?
by jw07 inaccording to wt doctrine jehovah's witnesses will be singled out and persecuted during a time described in this way: "for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the worlds beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.
" according to the watchtower the devil will turn on god's people will all his might (if he really exists, why hasn't he done so already?
) in an attempt to wipe them out.. also, it's not promised that all jws will escape unscathed during this period of time.. even before i woke up fully to ttatt i really thought about what that meant.

i always thought the great tribulation wasn't on Gods people, like the Christians who left Jerusalem in 70. The persecution came before it like touching Gods eye and he wouldn't be happy

Anyone Here Used to Fear Persecution?
by kneehighmiah ini was thinking today about how i no longer have to fear the attack of satan against the jws.
i used to fear being rounded up and beaten by mobs.
seeing my family tortured.

yes and no. I always thought i would probably say the wrong thing and give them the info they wanted about the brothers, accidentally, and i was always afraid they would cut parts off or something. I always thought if i'd been on the plains of Dura or whereever the three hebrews were i would have bowed down and done obeisance and argued that it's not worship. I was more a Peter than a Paul.
The no was i thought God would take the pain away when the beatings started, especially if i promised to do better if i survived.

it became obvious that if the bible was true, the wtbts's teaching on the "anointed" were false.

by punkofnice ini admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.
couldn't god have said: 'well, satan is a very naughty boy but you all know how great i am so we can end it now.
i will lovingly kill satan and his mates and that's that.

Is it normal to feel you have betrayed your spouse when you learn TTATT?
by BU2B ini am trying to look at it from a believing mates perspective.
they married you as a jw expecting you to continue as one.
if you have kids, she enjoyed the stability of both spouses being united.. when you learn ttatt, you find out the wt is a dangerous mind control group and lies to its members and is hypocritical.
