by frankiespeakin ini was watching a video "the wisdom of the dream" volume 3 it's all about carl jung.
in one part of the video it talks about addictions and brings up the fact that one of the men that started aa, was a man who was told by c. jung that the only way for him to cure his addiction to alcohol was for him to have a religious experience,, he was also warn by jung that if he didn't have a religios experience he would never cure his addiction.
jungs notes about this subject says: "spiritus contra spiritum" .

We were there, 5 meetings a week plus field service on Saturdays and toilet cleaning duty after the Sunday meeting. I remember talks from the platform in which the exact date (in Oct. 1975)of Armageddon was predicted. I remember the Watchtower denials of their false predictions. But most vividly of all, I remember the misery that being a child of the Watchtower was.

I wouldn't bet on roidhead Schwarzenegger not getting reelected. Two reasons why: [1] the public is gullable and buy into his BS Terminator personna; and [2] there are no viable candidates to oppose him. I actually did vote for Arnold; the other arnold, Gary Coleman. For me, it was a tossup between Gary and the porn star, but after I watched the two debate, I knew Gary Coleman was the right man for the job.

The issue of whether ratification has occurred is dependent upon the unique facts and circumstances of each case, but in general, any manifestation of an undertaking to be bound by the original transaction could be deemed to constitute ratification. In the case of a minor who was baptized, the acts of continuing to attend meetings, engage in field service, give talks, and doing the rest of what constitutes being a JW would most likely be asserted by the Watchtower as acts constituting ratification.

AK - Jeff: The reason you were told to employ passive restraint is most likely because the Watchtower's legal department determined that affording security more aggressive options would likely lead to litigation against them and the resulting costs thereof. Your life was not worth as much to them as the cost of a lawsuit.

"If you follow the premise that baptism is a legal contract, under US law a minor can enter into a binding contract."
Since baptism is not one of life's necessities or one of the other exceptions to the general rule that minors do not have capacity to enter into a contract, in a majority of states, such a contract would require court approval or it would be voidable by the minor.
A contract of this nature ought to be void, not voidable. -
