AJ,
I'm sorry if I sounded too harsh about his going golfing alone today, but I thought that that was why you said, 'See...I will be blamed.'. I see nothing wrong with spending a day apart, if that is what both of you want to do today.
Your situation sounds like you could find some help and comfort in a group like AL A Non (sp).

Auntie Jane,
Why are sore now that he has gone off alone to the golf course? He invited you to come along earlier in the day, but you declined. So why are you now saying 'See...I will be blamed.' How many times do you think that he needs to 'invite' you to come along?
Sure he was wrong to 'drink and drive' last night, but instead of 'shunning' him today, why not talk to him about getting a non-drinking buddy to do the driving next time?
If drinking is a problem for him, why not encourage him to get some help for his addiction?
'Shunning' or giving someone the 'silent treatment' only makes the person shunned feel all the more powerless and it always, ALWAYS increases the anger that they are feeling. Shunning NEVER has a positive outcome. It just makes the person who is DOING the shunning feel more powerful.

Is it his drinking that you're upset with or his attendening the car show all day long?

Out of rehab
by Cygnus ini was discharged today from the rehab center in the hospital.
there were 14 inpatients there and i was the least of their worries.
i would take 8-15 10/325 generic norco (think strong vicodin without too mcuh tylenol) a day and that's it.

Cyg,
I'm sorry that I missed your other thread saying you were going into rehab. I've been pre-occupied reading web pages about the re-discovery of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, so have not been reading JWD much since April 28th.
Please don't give up - the days in rehab were only the beginning of your battle. It will take TIME to fully recover. Being addicted to pain killers is so hard to break because you will still feel all of that pain that caused your addiction in the first place. Try to find a solution to the pain you are experiencing and all the rest should take care of itself in time.

What Is The Purpose Of Life? - please read if you care about me
by Cygnus inthese last 2 months have been the worst of my life.
i can only answer my subject question by saying the purpose of life is the 4 things sought after in the wizard of oz: love, courage, intelligence, and home.. and we all possess them whether we know it or not.
and especially love.

barry,
Thanks for the information about the TV Network. I became aware of it one day while re-setting my local TV channels after one channel had changed its freq. I listened for a while and got enough info to find it on the web. That is where I had labeled it an SDA of some sorts. I hardly ever watch it, because I could tell it was 'a little off-base' from what I believe.
Thanks again, barry.

barry,
What type of group of adventists run the 3Angles TV Network?
Are they another branch that has split off from the official SDA church?

Shawn,
Do not continue the 'Bible study' with these people beyond your first session. They are yet another CULT. If you want to research the 7th day Adventists, do so on the web using counter-cult web sites to do your research.
This group is more dangerous to study with than it would be to study with a JW. The doctrine is off base, but very hard to tell right from wrong doctrine unless you know what is wrong in the first place.
My advise to you, is to stick with your JW research and leave the 7th day Adventists CULT for later study.

Shawn,
Whenever she does decide to make contact with you just be a good LISTENER. Learn to ask her leading questions about how and why she feels the way she does. This will give you a better understanding of the JW mindset plus this will build trust. At this point, try to find things that the two of you can AGREE about, rather than what you don't like about the religion.
I feel that she is seeking a deeper relationship with 'Jehovah' and that she is convinced that returning to the JW religion is the only way to accomplish this.
It doesn't matter at this point that you believe that Jehovah = Jesus, the Son, and that she believes that Jehovah = God, the Father, you can still agree with her motive of becoming closer to 'Jehovah'.
It seems clear to me that the only reason she is pushing you away right now, is that she views you as a hinderance to her main goal. If you can prove to her that both of you agree in this goal, she may stop pushing you away. As long as you are not 'dating' her and she does not view you as an 'oposser' but an 'interested one', there should be no major objection to remaining a 'casual friend'.
But this is going to be a tough 'balancing act' on your part. You do not want to appear to be 'too interested', yet you do not want to be 'too disinterested' either. That is why you need to learn to be a good listener which shows your 'interest'.
I hope I'm making some sense to you with my rambling in this post.
